Yes it is absolutely normal. 13 is really too young to date. It would be perfectly normal to start dating at age 16, for instance.

As for girls showing you attention-- and needing friends in general-- maybe you can reach out to people. Ask someone if they want to study with you. Help anybody that you can and be very friendly. A smile is very attractive. Talk to the kids near you in a free period. Make sure you are never mean to anybody. If you sit with someone on the school bus, that's a great way to start a conversation. If you have one friend or maybe a teacher that you like, you can ask that person how they think you can make friends, because they know you well.

Another thing can be how you take care of yourself. Make sure your clothes are clean and your hands are clean and your hair is combed.

13 is a difficult age for boys sometimes. Somewhere between 13 and 15 you are going to grow a lot and change a lot. You will be taller and look more like a man. You will be more into girls then and they will be more into you. Let that happen slowly. You don't need to have a girlfriend now.

Last, there might just be a girl or two who has a wicked crush on you but is too shy to tell you!

there is nothing wrong with it or you. i went through the same thing. i realized that not even adults would talk to me when i was 14 and up a couple of years. just wait , give it time and try to watch tv shows and try to get the feeling that you are part of a tv family of your choice so that you can feel thier love and attentin going to you as one of the characters. that helped me more than i could have ever thought it would years before and i wish i would have been able to do that years before because it wasn't til then that i could actually have a conversation by the time i was around age 40 i do not wish that on you or any young person, and i don't want you to become anyone's fool like i did either. good luck

I understant that you may be struggling with this problem right now, but considering the fact that you are so young you shouldn't put your age and full name on the internet like this. I suggest you remove this question ASAP my friend. It normal to be 13 and not have a date yet, there will come a point when dating is sometimes more trouble than its worth.
