Irelivent! You live reacting to what you perceive weather it is in fact reality or not has no bearing on the issue. Examples?

In your dreams you are being chased by a monster. The monster does not exist but that does not keep you from running. You see "something" out of the corner of your eye and spin around to see what it is. Nothing is actually there.

In both situations you can see in hindsight that your perception was faulty. That does not change the fact that you reacted to reality as you perceived it at the time and in the same situation you will react the same way again. No sense, therefore, in being overly concerned with weather or not this is the "real" reality.

There's a buddhist saying, "Don't mistake the roadmap for the terrain. Our perceptions provide a road map for navigating the portion of reality we find ourselves experiencing. It is not, however, actual reality. To truly know reality would be to recognize your oneness with it. One the dualities that are illusions leave your mind and no long control your perceptions, you'll have a more precise roadmap to reality. It still won't approach the real reality itself.

For us what is reality is what we can see or feel. The ability to see is limited for all of us but to feel can very from person to person. With the word reality we mostly expect something eternal. If that is what you expect, then visible forms cannot have reality as all visible things are perishable. Out of your question the actual reasoning for spirituality arises.

There are people who simply drift along, searching for somewhere they belong to in this world. Looking for a place to call their own, they want to know where they stand in life. Years go by, but the answers might still be unknown to them, even til their very last breath on their deathbeds. Maybe that's what this journey called life is all about.

But living life is never a waste. When we have somebody to love and something to hope for, we learn to embrace the true beauty of life. Cherish every moment of your life because once it's gone, it will never come back. Sometimes you miss it so badly that it hurts inside.

reality is a joke in itself

Then we are living in an illusion created by an infernal machine, perhaps. But wait...this is cyberspace, of course it's not reality, its a digital construct and I'm just a bunch of symbols on your computer screen!

This isn't reality - it never was and never will be. What it is is reality as experienced by us. If dolphins could ask the same question, their answer would be that what they experience is reality as experienced by dolphins.

If this is not reality but instead just some dream or fantasy, I really got gypped. My dreams (as I know them) are usually a lot better than this.

Even in the darkest half-assed dream, the world still matters to you-- what is presented or occurs. It concerns you because you depend on that place for your identity. If this is all a pure simulacrum, it doesn't matter-- it may very well be-- but my knowledge of this world is important because I take a stand on my existence. No matter what the context.

Then I am getting ripped off. This was not in the brochure and definately not what I signed up for! They are still taking automatic payments from my checking account for this illusion and I want my money back. Are there small claim courts in this illusion?

Then I'd be curious as to what is reality, if there is any.

At this point, we don't TRUELY know if there is anything else out there besides our known world and universe. [Religions and science give us good places to start.....But.....] If this isn't reality, then we'll either never discover it, or we'll uncover it by accident, or we'll die and discover it, who knows.

But right now.....Who cares?
