I just had my brake fluid replaced about a month ago but my car still doesnt feel like it is braking right. When I brake, I have to apply a lot of pressure to the brakes in order for it to stop. It doesn't make any weird sounds, no smells. It just feels kinda loose on the pedals.

Take the auto ,instantly to another Certified mechanic.Brake problems are death makers.Your Auto has all of the symptoms of Air bubbles in the lines, which can cause COMPLETE brake failure!!!The Folks who put the fluid in your car did NOT do it correctly,so take somewhere else.there canot be even 1 air bubble present in your system,or the hydraulic brake link in the brake system will become loose or squishy, causing no brake power on your wheels. The system MUST be purged/bled of all air correctly,by the instructions in the manual for your make car.It is dangerous.Take care!

When you say you have to apply a lot of pressure, do you mean the pedal is stiff or you have to press it down a long way? If it is stiff, it could be a brake booster problem or a problem in the ABS system. If the ABS light is not on, it's probably a brake booster problem.

Could be several things, they probably left air in the brake lines. Take it back to where it was worked on and have them bleed the brakes or find the problem.

It sounds like you have air in your lines. Perhaps you need to have your brakes bled. Maybe when your fluid was changed whoever changed it didn't keep the Master Cylinder full when the old fluid was going out and you got some air in there.

try having the brake lines bled, there could be air in them which squeezes a lot before applying the proper pressure to the hydrulic fluid, could also be the master cylinder going, or the booster which controles the power brakes, or commmingly refered to as the vaccuum booster

Try pumping your brakes
If it builds up and works fine than Bleed your brakes
If not than replace your rear Brake shoes
My truck was doing this and the rear shoes were wore out..
