No, I do not think that is "normal." Take notes on your observations and talk to your ped. about it.

What do you observe as "weaker?" There is too little information for any of your Yahoo Community to really help you. There are too many factors involved that need attention: how old is the baby? How much does he weigh? How much weight has he gained since coming home from the hospital? How much food does he consume? When was his last checkup? Does he cry consistently? Only you can answer these questions and if you "observe" anything that seems out of the norm - by no means should you be hesitating - CONTACT YOUR BABY'S PEDIATRICIAN.

I'm definately concerned.

No. I don't believe so.

I am not an expert on childcare or babies but my advice to you is switch up his diet.

Take him on regular check ups to the doctor. If he's getting weaker he could be getting sicker.

Attention. give him lots of it. Take him to the doctor if he seems to be getting weaker.

What kind of things has he been around? Is he eating okay? How much does he weigh? these are all important questions that should be considered.

If you tell me more about his behavior I can try and help. but I advise seeking help from a professional doctor first.

after birth your child has a very strong grip reflex and can stiffen his legs. sometimes with support babies may even be able to stand ,but this grip reflex quickly fades, giving the impression that your baby is weaker . American Baby Magazine has a great website that lets u track your babies development week by week with daily tips and advice( americanbaby.com ) however any and all concerns should always be discussed with your pediatrician

I would call the doctor, better to be safe than sorry. Make sure that the baby is either nursing or taking a bottle. See what his appetite is like.

Sounds like you need to be picking up the phone and addressing your concerns with your son's pediatrican...

I really don't understand you people..posting questions regarding the well being of your child. INSTEAD of using the time it took your dumb *** to post the question, to just pick up the phone.

Another reason why some people shouldn't be allowed to have kids. Please get yourself nurtured..you don't need any more kids. I don't mean to be rude but the truth often hurts!

HAVE A DOCTOR CHECK HIM, I AM NOT AN EXPERT , but don't panic...remember you are a mom, and mom's have a sense that something is not quite right, you know your baby more that anybody else but is also your first, and the development of each baby is different. take him to his pediatrician.

No, that's not normal. Most babies get stronger pretty quickly. Could be just a nuitrition problem but definately check with your pediatrition.

no, it's not natural, babies are supposed to grow, they sleep a lot during their 1st month of life, but they should be able to grow stronger and less affected by diseases, ask your pediatrician
