This is her first week on formula. She will suck vigerously on her pacifier and start getting fussy. I wonder if maybe she's tired. Her stomach is a little bulged still, probably from being full. I wonder if she really is hungry again or if it is something else. She is eating Similac Advance.

2 ours is perfect feeding for a newborn. U might want to think of switching her formula. If her stomach is bulgy and she is still acting hungry she may be gassy. Try changing to a soy formula or getting her some mylacon to ease her tummy. I know that all my sons fussiness stopped when i changed his formula too smilac isomil advanced soy. My son ate 2 hours on point without fail. Now he was a big newborn lbs. 9oz. LOL one of the hefty ones.

Yes i would think so espcailly if she was breast fed cause they are fed like every 2 hours i think. I didnt breastfeed but my son was alway hungry never was satisfied. I would make sure its not gas first but she is problay hungry. And my son ate this way for a long long time and he eats so slow i was only getting maybe 2 hours of sleep at night because he would take and hour to feed and then 30 min to change and get back to sleep then he would be up again in like an hour. Not fun for me.

I have 2 young boy ages 3 and a half and 1 year. I remember the youngest being on a schedule similar to what you described and it was explained to us a "cluster feeding". It is more of a comfort thing than anything else. She wants to know your there and the food is there too. And/or she could be hungry. It is possible to feed that often during growth spurts.

She might be gassy. Talk to her doc about maybe switching to a formula that is easier on the baby's tummy, like Carnation Good Start, or she may need a lactose-free or soy formula. And NEVER put cereal in the baby's bottle. They could choke on it. It is not advisable to do give babies under the age of 4 months cereal because it can set them up for food allergies and obesity.

My Mom used to add a tsp. of baby cereal to the bottle and that cured us from waking up every two hours hungry!! Try it and you just might get 4 hours sleep at a time!

NO SHE IS STARVING!!! It is average for an infant to eat every 2-4 hrs. Babies also feel the need to suck on things. Try a passifire or add 1/4 tsp. of infant cereal to your baby's formula. it is more solid and will fulfill her longer.

Give her more formula in the beginning and then she won't eat as much...I gave Similac Advance to both of my kids and it didn't bother them at all!

That is absolutely normal. You're doing a great job.
You can even talk to your pediatrician about even giving her an extra ounce at feedings if she seems to want more.
Good luck and keep up the good work!

When my son (now 3 months) was that age, I had to start mixing cereal in with his formula because he was not getting enough to eat. His Dr told me to mix in One Tablespoon of Cereal to 2 ounces of formula. You might want to check in on that when she goes in for her two month appointment.
