You don't need anything special. Any PC will run a wireless adapter. The only thing that you need to determin is what kind of ADAPTER to get. (the router sends the "internet signal" to the rooms in your house, the "adapter" is what will recieve this signal. There are basicly two types of adapters. Both will require the router to connect to the internet, (unless you "borrow someone elses internet). Any way
One is a card, Basicly its a computer chip that has a antenna on it to recieve the signa, and it installs the same way a modem would.
The other is called a USB wireless adapter, For this you will need a USB port on the back of your pc. (small rectangle plug,) Newer most everything nowadayz. If you have the usb then thats what you will want to get.
Both as stated above will need the router to be hooked to the internet, Unless you use someone elses internet, like starbucks or other "hot spots" (wireless networks that are left open) that are found around your area. The usb wireless adapter is just insert disk, and follow along for the instalation.

Usually this is pretty easy.
If you are using xp then all you have to do (assuming it is not a lap top) is install a network card (netgear makes a good one)
Make sure that the card is compatible with the router or wireless accesspoint There is 802.11b which is older and 802.11g (faster and newer) some routers can swithch between the two.
install the software and let it find the signal.
Threre are also USB wirless connection devices.
Some laptops have wireless built in and they too can connect with PCMCIA network cards

Well, to determine, you need a few things:
* Does your computer have a wireless card? Can it be added in?
* Does your computer's wireless card support the router's technology? There's 802.11a, b or g. G is most common and is the best price to performance wise.
That's basically it!

Assuming you have a laptop, you must have a wireless network card (e.g. 802.11B or 802.11G card) either built-in or plugged into the side of your laptop.
