Honestly I see Anaheim or San Jose vying for the Stanley Cup out of the West...possibly a revamped Wild team may make a charge too....out of the East it is difficult to say...Buffalo was a team very close this season....Ottawa has been a huge disappointment...can they actually make the strides? In the end I feel Anaheim will prevail...Pronger and Scott Niedermayer on the same team...very scary!!! Go Ducks!!!

WhooHoo, warming up for a new season, I can't wait!
I am a die hard Detroit fan but I think this season I will pull for my California teams (no not the ducks). Too early to predict an outcome, let's see how the drafts shake out and which teams click. The new rules turned a lot of teams upside down last year, I think the team with the speed and the shooting skills will rise to the top. I kinda miss the "Old Time Hockey" but I will have to learn to adjust.

Based on the moves that have happened so far, I have to go with the Ottawa Senators. They were a good team last year and picking up Gerber helps solidify their goaltending. Yes they lost Chara, but they weren't going to be able to get a goalie had they signed both Redden and Chara. Getting Priessing in the Havlat trade is huge as he had a great year for San Jose last year. If they can pick up a veteran with leadership in the off season, they will be the team to beat.

I think if Darcy Regier gets some fine tuning done and half of the team doesn't end up with broken bones next season, the Sabres have a good shot at a cup run.

likely no longer. Ovechkin is stunning and there are some different gamers worth of observe on the crew, besides the undeniable fact that the inability of goaltending will be an situation. you may have some fulfillment with in basic terms a unmarried first rate line (examine out Ottawa), yet you gained't bypass each and each of ways with out protection and goaltending (ie: Pittsburgh). regrettably we would want to all face the reality that painfully dull protection-first hockey wins championships. Ugh.

The Ottawa Senators. I know that they have been touted as favourites before and failed to live up to the hype.

However, I have a feeling that 2007 may be their year. Besides, I think that it is time Ottawa won something. If the Red Sox and the White Sox can win, why not the Senators.

It's SO difficult to pick a team at this point with all the off-season trades and such. I think carolina will have another good shot, san jose will be a good team.. but it's really up in the air at this point.
