My skin is usually clear and healthy. But since I have been in Arizona as an exchange visitor, my skin has become very irritated to the heat. Producing more oil then usuall and causing a few pimples & blemishes! I didnt have this problem back home.
I want my normal skin back! Does anyone use ProActive and if u do is it a great face wash that really does keep ur skin clean and pimple free? I've heard about it on T.V and am forever hearing how good it is. I want peoples opinions because this Arizona weather sucks and my skin has taken shock to it. Im here for another 9-10 months and want to look after my skin while here. Plz Help!

When I mean my skin is irritated I dont mean BADLY irritated. What I meant was purely how i said it, my skin is more oily then usual and it has a few pimples breaking out. Its not even considerd as acne, so i dont have a bad problem there on my skin. Its just not looking the way it usually does at home, so its bugging me.
ProActiv might work in my situation as just a face cleanser. And that is all i really need. Sumthing thats good and is going to keep my skin clear and clean while in AZ for the rest of my remaining months. Im gonna go ahead and give it a shot. Thanks to all those whom answerd and gave advise. Ur all great. Thank u

I promise you that this regimen I'm going to share will stop your skin from breaking out. It works for me and for my husband. Both of us have very oily, breakout-prone skin.
1. Wash with Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash every time you wash your face. It has 2% salycylic acid in it, which is a mild exfoliator.
2. At night, use any 10% benzoyl peroxide cream all over your face. It will kill the bacteria that causes breakouts.
3. During the day, use any oil-free moisturizer with sunscreen. All the anti-acne products can make your skin sensitive, so you must protect it.
4. Once a week, use Loreal's home micro-dermabrasion kit. It will keep your pores clean and slough off dead skin so your pores can't get clogged again.
Trust me, this works. I've been using it for three years. FYI, I got this regimen directly from the book written by the two dermatologists who created ProActiv.
If your skin gets too dry or overly sensitive, cut back a little bit on your regimen. You don't want to hurt your skin, you want to heal it!

i tried proactive and at first i didnt think it was working, so i ordered another product that i heard was great. after waiting for it to ship, i noticed that proactive did clear up my skin a bit. but i still switched bc i heard this other product worked for the peoples that had no help from proactive. its called glytone. look it up on amazon.com. its about the same price as proactive. i use it religiously now and dont regret switching from proactive to glytone. it is a little drying, so take that into consideration. glytone is better than proactive!

ProActive is great - but may not be the answer for you.
Adjusting to a new climate and new water conditions - give yourself at least 6 weeks for your body to adjust before trying any treatments. Drink lots of water and stay out of the sun !
And if you do decide to use ProActive REALLY stay out of the sun as it is phototoxic (sun sensitive) and may CAUSE break outs.
I lived in the Caribbean and experienced similar problems my first month. Give it some time.

It depends on the individual. If your skin has irritation because of the heat, i guess Proactive is not really suitable for you as the cleanser and the lotion is dry and your skin may become red and flaky. It does not have long term effect. Are you sensitive or allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide? Thats the active agent they normally use. Maybe you can opt for the Saciylic Acid formula.Apply sunblock when you are out in the sun and moisturer to boost hydration.

whas up..i can truly say from man to man that proactive works..i didn't have a bad pimple problem i just used to get blackheads on my forehead..so I ordered proactive because I too heard that it was good..3 weeks after I have been using it I don;t have any more blackheads or pimples..after you order it they are going to try to make it so that you can have it delivered to your house every three months..DON'T DO IT..Just order it once to get rid of your skin problems..After that use Neutrogena cleaner mask and Clean & Clear daily pore cleanser..take turns using them morning and at night and they will keep your skin complexion free

proactive dries out your skin causing flaking and premature aging, lines and wrinkles. i would suggest aloettes simply clear line. they use aloe vera and vitamins. it doesnt dry out your skin. hope this helps. i live in arizona too so i know what you mean about the heat!

Me, my brother, my friend and her sister have all tried it, and we used it for awhile.. at first, your like, ehmagod!! This stuff is ah-some! But after awhile it stops working as well.. try something that has salicylic acid as the main ingredient. It's spot treatment, and works unbelieveably. :)
