I have already tried different CDs all of which are new (blank), for some reason Windows Media 11 will not recognize them, but does recognize an album if I put in recorded CD

Windows Media Player 11 is a Beta, and thus I'd be expecting it not to do some things. I would use Nero Express or another CD-burning program to make your music CD.

some computers have two disk drives- you might also. if you do, put it in the other drive.

it's also possible that the blank disk you're trying to use's minimum speed is above your computer's maximum write speed. check on your CD drive what the speed is, and check on the blank CD what it's speed is. if the speed on the cd is above the one on your CD drive, then you can't burn any thing onto it.

hope that helped.

Windows may be asking for a driver that someone failed to load, or your system may not support that particular function.

Try dumping then reloading the program.

It that fails look to the Windows Knowledge Base.

Are you sure that you are using Cd's that burn music and not regular Cd's. Regular Cd's will not burn music. Or at least from my experience. I always have to use Cd's that are used to burn music to burn music.
