Fill you need to convert the percentages to a letter grade. For the most part, the following grading scale is used to convert percentage to a letter grade:

90% or above ---A
80%-89.999%---B
70%-79.999%---C
60%-69.999%---D
Below 60% -F

Once the letter grades are achived the following conversion table is used to convert them to points.

A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
F=0

Finally, to calculate the GPA, total points earned is devided by total number of classes attempted.
If a class is worth more than one credit hour (If you are in college most classes are more than one credit hours) then points earned from each class is multiplied by total number of credit hours attempted.

For example, let's say you took 4 classes. You received 3 A's and a B. In that case total points you earned is (4+4+4+3) = 15. You attempted 4 courses. Thus you GPA = total points/number of courses attempted = 15/4 = 3.75

It depends on your school. Some schools use "weighted" systems, where advanced courses are worth more than regular (an A would be worth 5 points instead of 4). For the truly correct answer to this, ask the person at your school who handles the grades!
