I have a 6 year old son and 40 weeks pregnant with my second(I Will Be Induced Tuesday Morning) When I was pregnant with my first baby I was told the whole time he was a girl. He had a high heartbeat and the way I was carrying him and the way I walked and I gained 64 lbs with him. I was never sick, never had heartburn and never had mood swings. With this one everything is different. I am so grouchy, keep heartburn, actually lost 7 pounds this pregnancy and (EAT everything in sight) I wanted a girl so bad and because everything is so different I actually believed I was having a girl. I have had 3 sonograms including a 4-D and this one is another boy. I love and can't wait to meet him. But Like they say every pregnancy is different IT IS TRUE!!!! But Good Luck with getting a girl. Hope you have a happy pregnancy and healthy baby.......girl!!!

The only true exact way is amniocentesis. That is when they insert a needle into the amniotic sac and take out some fluid. However, those are not done routinely and carry a lot of risks.
Every pregancy is different. I had 3 and none of them were alike. My first 2 were boys. With the first I felt great. Only 27 pound wt gain. Craved fresh fruits and veggies. Walked 5 miles a day, except on Tuesday and Friday. Those days my husband was with me and we walked a total of 20 miles until 2 weeks before the baby was born. However, with all the walking, my hard labor was only 1 hour and 11 minutes long.
With my 2nd boy, quick labor... hard labor 15 minutes. However, I was sick the first 4.5 months of pregnancy. Hated all food. Ate healthy. Gave up all caffeine (as with each of my pregancies) because it has been linked to downs syndrome. Lost 12 pounds the first half of my pregnancy, then gained it back during the last half. Found out that the prenatal vitamins were making me sick. So I delivered at the same weight I was when I got pregnant. Healthy baby boy. No problems with delivery.
Then I got pregnant with my girl. I went in labor with her at 4 months. Was put on medicine to stop the contractions - and put on strict bedrest (bathroom and doctor visits only) for 4 months. During the whole time I only showed a 1/2 pound weight gain with her. I ate a half gallon of ice cream before my doctor's visit. Then puked it back up when I got home. However, when I ate, I ate healthy. I ate 6 lite snacks per day of fresh fruits and veggies. So that my baby would be healthy. She came a month early at 7 pounds. Would have been a 9.5 pound baby if term. She arrived 8 minutes after I got to the hospital. The doctor wasn't even there yet. Anyway... there really isn't anyway of knowing. You will hear lots of people telling you... oh, you're carrying your baby up front and high so it's this, or you're carrying it this way, so it's that... you can't be sure. Just take care of yourself and trust that God will give you what he wants you to have. I prayed for a brown hair, blue eyed girl. I had a blonde hair, green eyed boy; then a blonde hair, blue eyed boy; and then I got my brown hair blue eyed girl.
Good luck to you. E-mail me when you have your baby or if you find out sooner.

These are old wives tales, but here it goes...
It's a girl when... you get pimples (girls steal their mother's beauty), if people can tell you're pregnant when looking at you from behind (you show more in your waist)
It's a boy when... you have glowing skin, and your belly is round and out to the front.
When I was pregnant with my son.... my skin was flawless (and I've had pimples all my life)... and you couldn't tell I was pregnant if my back was turned to you (and this was true all they way to the 9th month).
I'm now pregnant again... and I'm breaking out all over. My waist has also grown tremendously (there's no mistaking my pregnancy even from the backside).
I'll know the sex in a couple of weeks... but my guess is a girl.
One more thing... I was constantly sick with my son, but this time around, hardly any sickness. That might be a sign too.
Good luck!

There are all kinds of "ways to tell" mostly just scams and old wives tales. Even sonograms have only about a 60% success rate.
Just hope for a girl but be ready for a boy--don't allow yourself to be disappointed by a boy.
A girl would be great but knowing what you're going will make a second boy easier. Also, all kids are so unique betting the farm on gender isn't worth it.

There are alot of wives tales on how to tell the sex of the baby. But, I wouldn't really trust any of them. Ultrasounds were correct with all four of mine but sometimes they are wrong. Do not get that DNA thing someone mentioned. They had a piece on it on Dateline or something. The company is being sued for claiming the 99.9% accuracy because it has been wrong most of the time. The only difference I noticed in my pregnancies were the foods I craved. With my girls, I craved things like cheese and chocolate together and vanilla ice cream with pineapple. With my boys, I pretty much just wanted salty and greasy foods.

I got an ultrasound at 15 week and 4 day's! I was told the gender by a private ultrasound tech (BOY) - look in your yellow pages for that, as I did. Keep in mind that the sex of the baby isnt visable till 13-14 week's.

Unless you have an ultra sound or other invasive testing there is no way to know if its a boy or a girl. MS is no indication and the way you carry the baby is no indication.

Some women get sicker with one sex than they do with another, but it is probably just an old wives tale.
