Working in music production is a lot of fun, but sometimes you encounter a person that can't work efficently due to the constant twiddling with effects, or adding additional harmonies, sections ect.ect. Deadlines must be met in any industry, the songs already sound good. What can I say to get "The Professor" to stop his extremely knowledgeable tweaking and finish the bloody song?

Well it is hard , because its a creative process but I would have to say if its becoming months since he/she/they first started I would advise them that if they keep changing it is sometimes gets worst and also flash the fact that they are spending more money then they probubly wanted to.

leak it onto the internet,
start charging a progressive scale, every half hour the price doubles
or after every fifth playback, double your rate
remind him all the other songs he needs to get recorded
sell the label the demo
