Everybody thought that Iraq had WMDs - at least leftovers from before the gulf war. No one thought that they had nuclear weapons.
I guess you just wanted to ask a question. I guess I just wanted two points.

well, this is a question that is hard to answer given all the contradicting information. Because of the destruction of the world trade center, they hunted al-quada in afganistan, which ultimately led to the invasion of iraq. I think bush wanted to finish what his father didn't when we liberated kuwait in 1991, saddam went free, so this is why i say what bush didnt finish, under the cover of the destruction of the twin towers, they used the WMD as a guise to go into iraq, which, thiking about it now, seems it was all a ploy for oil, oil companies have been ridden for years with marginal profits, which were still mighty hefty, but, it all seem slike a conspiricy to bring the price of oil to where it is now, almost $3 a gallon, when 10 years ago, i remember paying $0.67 a gallon, and 5 years ago was somewhere around $1.50.However, i feel lik ei am going off the path to answer your question, but need to explain all of that to bring up that point that iraq never had WMD, they had scud missiles with an accuracy something akin to shooting a sling-shot blind folded, most of their military equipment was destroyed in 1991, they claimed that iraq had buried the weapons and they had a hard time locating them, and when they did find a cache, it was usually empty or something other that WMD. the administration used 9/11, played on peoples patroitism, lied about the WMD, and used it all to make us pay $3.00 a gallon for gas. I read a question on here recently that had rock solid evedence that 9/11 was an inside job, i.e. done by us, the war in iraq has turned into a 2000 version of vietnam, but this time we woke up and have support for the troops fighting (just a note, but I spent 14 months in OIF, so I know what I am talking about), I watched a think tonight about the president meeting the german chancellor, talking about cooking a pig, when questioned about the escalating violence in the gaza strip, this guy responded with stating, i thought you was going to ask me about the pig. the best thing that can happen is the 2008 election to get this fool out of office....

Most have been destroyed, but there's still the odd one in the bottom of a few drawers around the WH and Pentagon. You can identify them by labels like "Talking Points" " Iraq Group work-up", etc. When you open them up the things you;'ll see are horrifying indeed. There'll be happy-faces next to "LOLOLOL. nuculear mushrooms clouds is perfect for scaring the bejeezus out of the hicks eh dick!", , or more serious tones like "vision of nuclear holocaust will make it hard for any Senator or House member to vote against us". and other Constitution destroying documents along that line. But you'll never find the "lets make Dick into a billionaire with no bid contracts for his 433, 333 shares in Halliburton which he supposedly divested himself of before taking office". papers. Dick is very tricky indeed. Then there;'s his wife, Lynne who is still on the board of several large defence contractors who have also reaped record windfall contracts since Sugar Daddy Dick got his way with PNAC due to that unfortunate 9/11 incident, a tragedy that somehow is being sold as more of a threat than the Soviet Union and Red Army combined. One that is so serious it demands more secrecy, more violations of international and domestic law, torture, habeas corpus, and even the skirting of FISA due to the al qaeda spy network which is more dastardly at camouflaging themselves than even the KGB, despite the beards and turbans (must be the sunglasses eh Dick?).
Anyhow, that's where the mushroom clouds are; In the minds of the gullible and in the working drafts of the "work-up" to the Iraq invasion.

In Bush's pea brain. She 's a puppet at best and a traitor to every soldier who has served and/or died in this travesty we call a war. And judging from some of the answers you've already gotten there are a whole slue of folks out there who still need to believe WMD's were real so they can still love their country and sleep at night. And by the way I love my country even though I know we shouldn't have gone to war. Bush should take the BILLIONS we're using to rebuild Iraq and spend them on rebuilding the Gulf region and education.

Would you believe she was just making that up to scare you?
Speaking of weapons of mass destruction, do you remember the 20 million gallons of agent orange that the US soaked the Vietnamese with? They are still suffering the birth defects from that. If Condi needs something to talk about, maybe she could explain that, before she goes blindly accusing then attacking and turning a weak country into chaos, for their oil.

Are rhetorical questions allowed here? It may seem silly to say, but I doubt that there ever were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. If there were, they would have been spotted and monitored by our high powered spy satellites. (Think north Korea's current situation). The United States' War Machine used fear and misguided accusations to gain approval to go to war. The spoils: a more stable (and democratically-friendly) middle east, which we can take comfort in knowing that the sea of oil on which "the middle east" floats will continue to be used to fuel further ambitious undertakings by the U.S. War Machine.

Maybe the space shuttle will find them on the moon. Cuz that's a good way to spend money when this country is falling apart. People need to choose between gas to get to work, or food for the kids. Bush should be sent to the moon, and left there. He has put us in a real mess. And I think it's going to get really, really bad. Thanks George W.

There were plenty of threats, plenty of weapons. There are less threats and a whole lot less weapons now.
History will judge our actions kindly once we get it out of the left's spin cycle.
A people freed and saved sounds pretty admirable to me. It also sounds like WWI and WWII
