She thinks this is not normal & is sure the difference in size is due to a large lump. She did experience some sort of boil type growth on the larger breast some 25 years ago when she was about 8 years old. She says she is too frightened to go to the doctor & find out any bad news. A check with her female doctor 5 years ago, said there was nothing wrong, but she didn't have confidence in that doctor. Any advice would be appreciated, together with any links to relevant web sites. Thanks

As a doctor, I can say:
1) It's totally normal for one breast to be larger than the other, sometimes by a whole cup size or more!
2) Regardless, every adult woman should have her breasts examined by her doctor every year.

It is very common, it would actually be UNCOMMON for breasts to be exactly the same. Women have more hang-ups about their breast than they should. This is due to mens fization with them. Tell your wife to look at the other parts of her body.. are they exactly the same? No.. to prove this have her place a peice of notebook paper over the right side of her face and look into the mirror.. now study that left side of the face. Next switch sides and notice the difference!!! Eyes may have a diff shape, one may be lower than the other or squints a little. Mouth may be fuller on one side or off kilter a little. Tell your wife that breasts are like snowflakes , no two are ever the same! Just be thankful she has both of hers still with her! And always do a breast exam every month to look for SUDDEN changes in size, shape texture or discolourment!

It is very common for Women to have one breast slightly larger then the other. If there is large size difference or one is now just becoming larger then the other, then I would suggest seeking the advice of a Dr. You can probably find some information on Yahoo!Health about this if you search. Good luck to you and yoru wife. :)

its highly common. if there was a lump, she would FEEL something hard, not just see a difference in size. although recently a study came out saying that the greater difference in size between the two breasts, the more likely a woman may be to get breast cancer. being afraid to get bad news from the doctor is totally irrational. if there is "bad news" (which is pretty unlikely unless she has breast cancer in her family history), getting to the doctor sooner rather than later would be the best action.

Almost every woman has one boob bigger than the other. That is life.

If she had a tomor big enough to cause a noticable change in size 5 years ago, and did not treat it, today, she would be dead for about 4 years - regardless of the compitence of the doctor.

Just the same - every woman should go in and get felt up by her doctor once a year and girls over 40 need to get squished too.

Ain't getting older grand?

Almost every woman has one breast larger than the other. If she's that nervous about a reoccurance of the growth, she NEEDS to see a doctor. If it was breast cancer, which is highly treatable in the early stages, she needs to find out now.

OK, it is vary normal. and i bet if she is right handed than her right breast is the smaller of the two. This happens because the breast are made up mostly of fat. if she is right handed than she uses her right arm more giving the right side of her breast more of a workout than the left side. if she is right handed than some of the fat will turn into muscle and since muscle is tightly woven together (fat is loosely woven together) than the boob will shrink a little. she can always take a 2-5 hand weight and do a few reps with just her left hand and with time it wont be as noticeable.
hope this helps.

There are lots of women out there with uneven breasts. Some are just more noticeable. Either way......If the doctor told her there is nothing wrong, then there probably isnt. But just to ease herself she should probably get another opinion or two. And Im pretty sure they make bras for uneven breasts, you know, to make them appear even.

If the difference in size is very significant--she needs surgery.Get breast reduction/lift/alignment or whatever surgery she is advised in India.Cosmetic Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible.

As a doctor i personally believe that your cosmetic surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.If you still havent got your surgery done, you are better off getting it done in India.

my cousin got her breast reduction/tummy tuck/buttoc... lift surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare.she is more than very happy with the results.she just paid 30% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise fore this forerunners healthcare company.i personally have seen the wondeful results and am particularly impressed with the kind of quality care she got from this company.hope this helps
