You check the anal fin. It is located on about in the middle of the fish, on the very bottom of the body. The female fish has a rounded fin, and the male fish has a skinny fin. The reason that his fin is skinny is because it also is his sex organ. He has to place it inside of the female in order to get her pregnant. Mollies are live bearers, which means that they don't lay eggs. Her babies are born swimming. Guppies, mollies, platies, and swordfish are all live bearers.
The females are generally wider,(pregnant) looking. On guppies, the males are a lot more colorful then their mates.

Males of these kinds of breeds have a fin on the underside of the bodies that looks like a little finger. That is the male, the one without it is the female. Guppies are the same way. It's easy to spot and is between the tail and the pectoral fins closest to the tail. It's not hard to spot. In addition, a lot of the mollies and guppies, the male has all the color or the finage while the female is rather dull. Good luck!!

Same for both. Look at the fin on the bottom closest to the tail. If it's round it's female, pointy it's male.
And good luck breeding. When I was a kid and had an aquarium, two guppies meant instant babies. As an adult, I've had an aquarium for about the last 10 years, and can't get babies from anything.

They've pretty much cover key point of the rear fin. Also male mollies tend to have slightly brighter colors, and smaller sails on top. Male guppies are more colorful, and have longer fins.

Just remember that Male in animal form are more beautiful and attractive than Female. So as for Mollies, Male are much more bigger in size and more vivid colour while Female are much more smaller and with very light colour.
