In the US you need a bachelor's degree or equivalent - that's 4 years after high school. Then veterinary school itself is another 4 years. A lot of veterinarians go into practice at that point, but if you want a specialty it's another 3-6 years.

Most veterinary schools don't have 'majors' in any particular area, but you can arrange some of your rotations in 4th year to concentrate in areas of interest.

Vet school takes 8 years....thats for a large animal Vet or a small animal Vet. It's worth it though...you can make alot of money...anywhere from 50k-80k, those who own their own practice make 100k-150k plus:)

welll...u have to go to school for like 3-4-or5 years to learn how to be a veternarian first of all
