Any name can become uncommon or unique if you play around with the spelling a little bit. For example, the name Melissa is pretty common, change the spelling up a little....maybe Alyissa or Lariessa......well you get the point......Good luck on choosing a name!

I have a friend that her daughter's name is Avriel (pronounce Avery-elle) and her middle name is Juree (pronounced Jury).

Amaris is another one that is pretty
Americus (off of the movie with Natalie Portman where she has her baby in Wal-Mart).

I can't think of any unusual boy names. Check out babynames.com, babynamer.com etc. They have some really different name due to posting names from different cultures.
Good luck! She will have her hands full, for a while. :)

My daughters name is a small town in Portugal. Try looking into unique interests or family history. Find out what nationality she comes from or her husband and do a little research.
