Because some people see what they want to see, regardless of the reality or opportunities around them.

This is not the America that I see or people that I associate with.

Instead of accusing others, why don't you examine your own motives for posting a question like this? You obviously want to stir up controversy and lack the maturity to approach this topic in a constructive way.

I really don't think America is full of bigots.

I think you'll find, if you get out and get to know enough people, talk to enough people, work with enough people, that most Americans are pretty decent folks.

The problem is, though, that everyone hears about the ones that are. It's like listening to the news. For every crime committed there are a hundred good deeds done. But how often are good deeds reported?

It's because we are diverse, so we see bigots interact with different races and cultures on a regular basis. In many other more homogeneous countries, there are plenty of bigots, but they don't show themselves - there's no one to be bigoted against.

There are bigots everywhere in the world. Americans are just so obnoxious that others like to think the worst of them so of course, they are bigots.

When a person places a certain trait on a whole group of people, they could be considered a bigot.

I suppose they have to live somewhere. But I think Germany may be worse than america. They have had quite a spike in bigotry and violence against non-anglo saxtons.
