biracial? That might be why the manager didn't want you for the job. But that's really an illegal excuse. On the other hand, it might have been your age. Waitresses and waiters have to be a certain minimal age- I think 20 (Perhaps?). At fancy restuarants (Olive Garden, Applebee's, TGIF, Out Back, most employees who are younger than that minimal age, are hostes and hostessses. Some times also cheif's helpers. Ask your friend about those possibilties. And if you really want to work in a restuarant, try at asome others.

you do no longer somewhat want any adventure, only stick on a grin :) My advice could be determine you have good shoes, as a results of fact which you will probable be on your ft all shift. If a client asks some thing you don't be conscious of, only tell them you're undecided and which you will discover out. you do no longer could desire to be fairly! and you do no longer could desire to have a great memory. as quickly as you have achieved it some cases you will discover you in basic terms style of do remember who's on what direction. you does no longer be predicted to memorise orders or something. I trust the different answerer approximately attempting to discover a place that could be a 'great' eating place the place you would be happy to devour. do no longer choose for considered one of those all day carvery form places they are undesirable to paintings in! provide any nearby eating places a decision or pop in and ask in the event that they want any workforce. basic :)

It means the manager did not like your appearence. Even when you go and pick up applications or drop them off you need to look your best.

Sounds like he was a racist. He didn't won't to hire you, he should had not said that. But if your friend lied about them hiring, are you sure she didn't lie about that ???
But who ever said that, had no right to speak about you at all. What goes around, come back around.

If this is true it sounds like racial discrimination. If you can't afford a lawyer I would boycott the restaurant.and have my family and friends do the same.
