I work the cash register at a fast food resturant, and it's really upsetting when people talk down to me, yell at me and get angry for things beyond my control. How can it be my fault that their burger isn't hot, the prices went up, etc., etc.?? I just would like to be treated with a little more respect. I treat my customers with respect, and I would like them to treat me the same way. I wish everyone could have the fast food working experience, because then they would hopefully have more patience and understanding for what we deal with every day.

My husband is a meat eater ~ i'm not. We were teasing one yet another this morning because I provided to make him an omelette and he suggested you larger useful run to the keep first and get some Sir Francis Bacon. I suggested you'd be a vegetarian once you're previous and decrepit and depending on me to feed you - LOL. he's like, one people will not experience free if we are depending on the different for nutrition... right here, eat your cheeseburger! My aspect? i do not somewhat have one.... perhaps that is: Who cares what all and distinctive else eats??? Or how about: Even meat eaters and vegetarians can get alongside in the experience that they have got a humorousness. What you eat is a own determination. And in basic terms btw, I take so a lot more suitable crap than I dish out.... a minimum of in this actual concern. **edit** thanks, ask your self female ~ i did not get it yet did not favor to ask ~ groan...

I work cash at Wal-Mart part-time in the evenings and weekends (i manage a gourmet coffee and specialty teas company during the days)... I totally understand what you mean...

The only logical conclusion I've come to regarding these situations is that these peopel think that we don't have an education, but these people are just ignorant..

I think they've forgotten the days when they actually had to work to pay off student loans or to make some extra cash for a social life or even to earn money for school or bills.

Either that, or Mommy and Daddy served them everything on a gold platter with diamond studs on the edges..

Don't let anyone EVER get you down.. don't listen to those people... they don't know what they're talking about!!!

Because people have lost their manners. Honestly, I believe everyone should work fast food. I think everyone should experience the degrading treatment that the people behind the counters receive.

Personally, when I was in school and worked fast food, I had food thrown at me from across the counter, I was yelled at because the customer dropped his own tray, and belittled because we were out of a certain item.

I am always kind and courteous to the person behind the counter or on the speaker since I have had my own share of customers fro hell.

i think u answered your own question, but i totally agree with you. i haven't ever been a restaurant worker but i HATE it when i see somebody treat them rude. if i ever am in line after a jerk like that i try to make sure to tell the worker what a jerk i felt that other person was so they don't start to take it on themselves and wonder if they really are as worthless as the person acted. i hate how rude people can be, and for some reason certain jobs just attract that, the checkout person at the grocery store is another one. Y can't we just be nice, smile at each other? would it hurt so bad???

They are bad people who have no respect for others. They have no idea what respecting others is all about.

They feel they are paying so they can do whatever they wish. You're their hired slave. It's disgusting.

When a guy at another table has been acting rudely I tell the waitress, "I hope you spit in his salad. Go ask him how his meal is again!"

Really, it is people who never learned to have respect for others. They should try doing your job for one day and see how they like it.

I agree, I work in a sit down restaurant and people still treat me like I am so low below them. All you can do is keeping being nice and hope that people notice it and are thankful. I don't know if I believe in karma, but hopefully those people get what they deserve!

Cause they need to do so in roder to feel good or better with themselves... I think there are people who have nobody to talk to so they go and let all their frustration out with poor fast food employees, sm cashiers, etc... the only human contact they feel they can yell at. Do not take it personal, think they surely had a worse day than you.

I think you can really tell the character of a person by the way they treat help and working staff. Watch closely, and you'll see what I mean.

Keep in mind one of the Four Agreements: Don't take anything personally. It's their heaping pile of s*&t. If you don't want it, just smile and hand it back to them.

because they have miserable lives and the only people they can possibly look down on are restaurant peons because everyone else treats them like they treat you
don't be so sure about having experienced fast food working making you a nicer person. i went out to lunch with the receptionist once (the RECEPTIONIST!!!) at my job and she used to be a waitress and also a carhop and she was unbelievably rude to the restaurant staff. what a tacky *****.
