No, I don't fear death, because as a Christian, the bible says, and I believe, that Christ took the "sting" of death for us. That I will live forever in eternity with Him because He is my Lord !
Any questions about this, just drop me a line. I would be happy to answer how you too can be sure where you will go once you die to this life.

Death is inevitable. It WILL come. So, face it with calm and a smile. Its not going to be easy, I am sure but we can go in prepared -- mentally.

It is like a long trip; don't worry so much about what will happen at the end, concentrate on the journey itself.

I am a buddhist so I look at life as a sequence of events. This life is merely a chapter in an unfinished book of which YOU are the author.

If you'd like to, I have included a link to a set of literature. Read a few pages, if it doesn't suit you just dump it. Here is a short clipping:

"This realm that we're in is actually a very painful one to be born into. Being human beings on planet Earth entails the experience of sensation: it's sensitive, and so it's painful. We have to live with pain, anguish and despair, grief, loss, and separation from the loved; we have to bear with irritations, aggravations, frustrations and miserable situations. There's the ageing the body goes through and the variety of pain and sickness, disease, death. All this is a part of this realm. This is normal, I'm not complaining about it. I’m not saying that it should be any other way; but as long as we seek to attach to and identify with this realm of the body, the feelings, the perceptions, mental formations, and the sense-consciousness, then we create more suffering around its natural unsatisfactoriness."

I dont fear death. Death itself doesn't hurt. Dying maybe... I think the reason that most people are terrified of death is because it's an experience/"life" stage that every person is going to go through but unlike the other experiences in life (puberty, childbearing, virginity-loss, etc.) death is the only one that nobody can really tell you about. When we reach other human milestones, there are always people there to tell us what it's like before them, help us along when we are going through them, and when it's over laugh and share stories. Death is unique because it's the only experience where you can't do any of that. So people get scared (down right terrified) cause they dont know what to expect - how's it gonna feel, when's it gonna happened, what happen's after, is there an after-life... They are also get really uneasy about the fact that life itself is gonna go on after they are not here and they start to think,"What is gonna happen to everyone/thing when I go?!"

The reason I'm not scared is because I see life as just a long crazy dream that is going to end someday. And when I die, I know where I'm (hopefully) going. I believe that God has a plan for all of us, and if we believe and follow in him, all will be fine. :)

Not really. But there is no way to know if we should fear death or not. I do fear living in pain, because I know that is something I should fear. I'm guessing that death is better than living in unbearable pain, but I could be wrong. I would let you know after I die, but I don't think there is a way to do that.

NO, it do not fear death. Because I understand it that is why I do not fear it. I believe that people only fear something they do not know and understand. Many of those do not have any idea of what death is and that makes them seek more out of life. Those who have full understanding of death knows that it is under one's will.

I asked the same question earlier. I am very scared of death. I have felt the presence of my dead daddy and my boyfriends dead dad. But was it real or just a dream? Was I going "crazy" from my grief so I imagined my dad was with me?
I choose to believe he was there in spirit.
I once came close to dying. I passed out and my lips turned blue. I od'd (accident) it was just darkness, no dreams, no lights, no tunnels, nada, zip, zilch. I woke up 15-20 minutes later to see I was wet with water, had CPR done on me ect.
I was not ready to go yet maybe that is why I did not see the usual stuff people see when they die and return.
I can't imagine getting cremated or buried. I will be there in 200 years w/ some kid looking at me saying "WOW! that was long ago!" I hope we live on in spirit and get to "see" our loved ones.
It is crazy scary. When will I die, how, will I know?
Boy I don't think I'll sleep 2 good 2 nite!! :)

It is impossible to overcome fear of death by believing in eternal life...or not believing in death itself. That fear is burried deeply in unconsciousness and we do not know what really initiate this. Being brave does not eliminate fear of death.Absense of that fear, is only solution.

Why not I fear death is because I know it will come some day whether I want it or not! If your matters are good and you think that you do well in this life, following God's described path then you don't have to fear about death.

If it is otherwise, then one should repent to God and change his or her life.

No. I've died once already and it wasn't a bad experience. The manner in which one may find their end might not be ideal.... but even in that, it typically doesn't last very long. Death is the doorway which we all must pass through to find the next path to follow in this journey.
