The straw that broke the proverbial 'camel's back' consisted of the planned cross-border attacks that killed one soldier, and kidnapped two others - who were subsequently tortured and murdered. Followed by another cross-border raid that killed 8 Israeli soldiers and kidnapped another two.
This follows repeated bombing attacks after the Israeli army entered the Gaza and forcibly removed their own Israeli citizens, to placate the P.L.O. with the return of land won in the 1960s.
In good faith, Israel reverted the occupied territory, and the 40 years of property improvements made by Israeli citizens to the Palestinians. The Palestinian response was to attempt to garner more land.
This isn't about two soldiers. It's about Israel being surrounded by hostile neighbors who've sworn to purge them from the face of the planet. It's about 50+ years of broken peace agreements, and the continuing and escalating acts of aggression against the people and government of Israel.
If your neighbor repeatedly threw cherry bombs at your house, wouldn't you get fed up?

Getting jiggy over nothing? Islamic guerillas launched rockets into their cities, and then followed up by kidnapping two of their soldiers and Israel is just supposed to take this lying down? Oh, Hell no! The US is backing Israel, not the terrorists.

actually the two soldiers wore the breaking point. The Israelis are fed up and had planed on needing an excuse to go after some targets. The US will stand by Israel and might support them militarily if countries like Iran , Jordon , Syria , Palestinians get involved.

Over nothing? Do you ever read a newspaper or watch the news? Terrorists have been coming into Israel and killing civilians for years. Suicide bombers kill little children on school buses and civilians in restaurants and stores. They are surrounded on all sides by terrorists who want to destroy them. Lebanon has 300 missiles aimed at Israel. Israel is the only democracy and our only ally in the Middle East. They are doing what we should be doing, getting rid of terrorists.

Unbelievable that these sensitive Israelis get all jiggy over a few missiles being lobbed into their backyard. What's a few missile hits between neighbors, right?

Getting jiggy over nothing? Crap, Lebanon is hurling missles at them! And terrorist groups want to wipe them off the proverbial map.

The US has been funding Israel's armed forces for a while now. Good thing, too, because they have one of the best armies in the world.

What do you mean over nothing.....self respect and self defense is everyones' right. What they are doing is all right. I think one day they are going to fight Iran now as Iran is the main culprit behind all this.
