Is it to get attention or is it to feel independent?

Get attention, but honestly when they do that they're getting the wrong type of attention. And they wonder why they get looked up and down. I just don't see why they don't realize it?? I guess they feel they have to do what everyone else is doing, or at least what they think they're doing. And if you go to the clothing stores they do sell a LOT of seductive clothes, so no wonder they're wearing it, it's practically all they can find.

what's sad is when you see little girls, dressed by their mums, in these seductive styles - what hope do they have when they grow up and they think these styles are acceptable or ok?
I'm a girl, and I have no sympathy for those who wear seductive clothes and then wonder why bad things happen to them. Take some responsibility.

It depends on the girl. Some girls wear it for attention, some wear it b/c they can (have a flawless body to do so), some wear b/c they just choose too ---end of story.
Such girls, though should be prepared for the kind of attention they attract, even if it's unwarranted. Cuz unfortunately, such is the kind of society we live in.

Attention. Usually, these women were ugly ducklings turned into swans, who didn't get a lot of attention as teens.

Because they think that boys will like them. They know that it's way that they will definately get attention. They know that if it's there guys will look, and that's what they want. To seduce boys. And there are girls who think it's cute. I'm one of those girls who thinks modest is hottest. :-) it rhymes!

good question. i just think they want attention and to stand out. or they simply wear it because all the celebrities wear it!

to get attention, they want to be noticed so they can feel good about themselves, for most women who do this its a deep seeded psychological condition
