Why do female child molesters get a lighter sentence than males?

Are female children more valuable than male children? It makes me sick to see a someone convicted get only 6 months or so!

Twenty-nine-year-old Pamela Rogers served 198 days in jail for her actions. A condition of her release was to have no contact with the student. She was also barred form using the Internet.

are you stupid? what do you think gives you any call to make such an astounding generalization about our legal system? you know what makes me sick? people who have absolutely no idea how our legal sytem works, yet feel the need to insult it. in no way or shape do female child molesters get lighter sentences..... you need to check your fact or at least put an absolute crap clause at the end of your questions. and learn how society works no child molester is getting "6 months or so."

Its hard, even now, for people to get their heads around the idea of women molesting children. Its not fair or right, but hopefully they will get the sentences they deserve in the future - after all, people used to almost never convict women of murder because they thought the 'weaker sex' could never commit such an act.

Children being abused are still children. It really shouldn't matter which gender they are. Yes, I agree, it's ridiculous.

But your question implied females who molest children, not female children.
So, my answer to that is simply the courts don't know how to handle females who molest children. It's so against female human nature to harm children in such a way that it really throws the courts off balance when it does happen. Also, archaically, I believe the courts believe females who molest can be treated and rehabilitated more easily than males who molest.

This I do not know...you're talking about the one that had sex with a 13 yr old boy....served a sentence then sent pics to him.....when he was 14.....and they are still trying to be easy on her.....WTF!!!

If it were reversed and a guy teacher had sex with a 13 yr old girl....by some miracle served less than 2 yrs, got out and sent naked pics of himself to her....

HAAAAA!!! America would be in a freakin' uproar!!!

The woman deserves 20 yrs minimum....

Because if a Guy doesn't want Sex to Happen, it's not going to Happen. When a Female has Sex Forced upon Her, whether She wants it or not, an Erect, Forced Penis is going to make it Happen. That's just the way it is. Biology, not a "Double Standard".

It's a male dominated society, including the courtrooms. If a man has sex with a minor female, he is a predator. If a woman has sex with a minor male, she is a teacher. Let me rephrase that...

Anyone that molests a child needs to be sent to jail, any race, any sex, equal punishment. Inmates don't like child molesters and they will do the same to them as they did to a child.

I agree --- there seems to be a sense in the court system that females are to be coddled. It's the way it is, but it darned sure isn't right.

I think female criminals in general get lighter sentences no matter the crime. I have no proof to back it up and not trying to offend anyone.
