Abortion is almost always WRONG. I have heard all the arguments.
"It's a woman's right" (haven't seen such a right in the US Constitution). "It's only a lump of cells." "It isn't alive" are the most popular of the "Pro-Choice" crowd.
Meanwhile, the "Pro-Life" crowd says it's God's will that there shouldn't be any abortions.
Quite frankly, none of those arguments do anything for me.
Is there something that all people of good will can agree upon? Perhaps it is this. An innocent human life should not be taken without just cause.
One may argue about the morality of killing during a war. Or there is the death penalty for people convicted of murder. And there is self-defense. I think that just about covers it.
Your neighbor plays his TV too loud at 3 AM? Not a reason to kill him. Your boss won't give you a raise? Not a reason to kill her. You're not ready to be a parent? I guess that's the question here.
Certainly, except where the life of the mother is in serious danger from the pregnancy, none of those arguable cases applies. For example, if she is a diabetic and the pregnancy might destroy her kidneys, then I think it should be up to her.
Well then, why do I say the abortion is wrong most of the time?
Simple. I was born in January. Working backwards, I guess that I was conceived about the early part of April of the previous year. I am now an old f@rt. I claim to be human. I claim the right to be not terminated without just cause as stated above.
My DNA is the same as when I was 12 years old. Same person, different package. It's the same as when I was 3 1/2. Same person, different package. It's the same as when I was born. SPDP. It's the same as when I was just conceived. SPDP.
Unless you think that I am not a person now, I was also a person that April many years ago. I claim for that person the same rights to Life, Liberty and Property that the Constitution gives to me today.

Abortion should never be used as an excuse to live irresponsibly.
Irregardless of how a child is conceived, how they came to be is NOT their fault. If there is threat to a mother's life, abortion is not wrong. I do not, however, have any respect for women who sleep with someone without protection, find out they get pregnant, and use abortion as means to solve their problems (for example- keeping their boyfriends). As for cases dealing with rape, I would strongly encourage the young lady to seek counseling, and advise her to keep the child. Better to have the child adopted into a loving home than to have an abortion. By all means, the mother is not obligated to take care of the child, yet every unborn baby deserves a chance to lead a happy life, even if it means through adoption. There are agencies that help moms-to-be arrange for their child to be adopted even before they are born. They also go so far as to select the prospective parents (Hawaii girl from REAL STORIES show on MTV)! Otherwise, if the mother does decide to have an abortion, I cannot stop her.

Killing a conceived human being is wrong because it is ending a life. Killing spiders just for being in your room is also wrong. Unfortunately, people tend to downplay both acts.
Ending a life to escape an inconvenient situation is ALWAYS a sign of weakness.
A woman does not have a choice to murder a human. A woman does have the choice not to have careless sex. That is the true woman's choice.
If certain radical feminists continue to push for the acceptance of abortion, they are HURTING the image of women in general. Women in general are stronger than those whining harpies.
What about rape? Rape is VERY wrong, for certain. But why should an innocent unborn child suffer for the crimes of the father? However, rape should be viewed as an even more horrendous crime than it is viewed now, because it does bring the possibility of unwanted pregnancy.
When a mother is going to die unless she has an abortion, this is the toughest case of all. I believe this case will become easier to work through as we advance further in the medical sciences.
Finally, if you are still unsure for some reason as to whether or not abortion is wrong, then you should definitely not have one! You could DEEPLY regret it later in life. When you are uncertain of the morality of an avoidable action, your best moral option is to avoid it.
Please note, this opinion is coming from an agnostic. Sensible, scientific minds are not always accompanied by cold, feeble hearts.

Here's my opinion.....It's not a form of birth control and I am appalled at the number of women who use it as such. And personally, I chose not to have an abortion when I got knocked up by some random sexual partner but I would be dammed if someone told me I had to have an abortion or vice versa. However, if I was raped by a family member or something as disgusting as that and I knew that the emotional effect of carrying the pregnancy to term for let's say adoption would be far worse then just terminating the pregnancy then I am most certainly for abortion. It is not up to me what any women does with her life and I would not want someone else making my decisions for my life if they have no idea what walk of life I'm from! I didn't get to make the decision of being raped so why is it any more fair for someone to make any other decision for me?

Unfortunately, it's not a black and white issue.
Abortion is acceptable for specific situations, but not as a means of birth control. If you had the opportunity to prevent it, you should carry that child to term and either keep it or give it up.
I would find abortion acceptable for a rape victim, incest victim, pedophile victim or when the mother's life is in danger.
Again, unfortunately, the majority of the laws that States are trying to force now (in case Roe v Wade is overturned) won't even allow abortion if the mother's life is in danger. I find that irresponsible at best and reprehensible at worst.
Why is the unborn child's life more important than the mom's to the point that both could die? If it is God's will, then no one should be allowed to seek medical attention for ANYTHING life-threatening because it is God's will that they die at that moment and not take advantage of any medical attention.
That's my opinion. :-)

It is clearly wrong in all circumstances. It's not a complicated issue. Every abortion kills an innocent human being. Every abortion is murder. Every abortion is wrong. For more information, see:

That's a personal question - one person may see it as right whereas another may see it as wrong. It all depends on the circumstances and the beliefs of each individual.
Although I would never have an abortion...I do not think it is my place or the government's place to make that decision for anyone.
The person who has to deal with the consequences is the person that should make the decision - about whether to have one or not - and about whether it is right or wrong for them.

I feel abortion is wrong.I also feel that you can't successfully legislate personal morality. Prohibition failed. Even though I consider it to be wrong, I don't feel i can legislate your morality or tell you how to make personal moral choices. I once declined a job I wanted because, as a physician, I would have been expected to participate in abortions at this particular institution.

Abortion is wrong. There are no gray areas in between- only wrong. A woman has two choices.....to 1 have/not have sex and 2 to use/not use protection. A baby is not a choice- he/she is an innocent baby, and a gift from God.

Abortion is a question of morality and politics. Morality is relativistic. Thus, abortion is neither right or wrong. It depends on one's mental predisposition. One would argue that its murder, and others would argue that its woman's reproductive rights. In my opinion, abortion is only acceptable if the pregnancy ends up in rape, incest, or if it endangers the mother's life or health.
