Most people advocating circumcision are only repeating what they've heard or been told by others. South Korea has the highest circumcision rate in the non-Muslim world, but there were no circumcision going on their 100 years ago. Why is it done now? Americans influenced Korean doctors who informed the citizens that all Korean men need to be circumcised. Adults went and did it, children did, etc... Now, if you ask the average doctor in Korea, they won't know that this hasn't always been done and they won't have accurate statistics (assuming that circumcision prevents cervical cancer which is false). The reason it spread so fast is because of the cultural norm of following authority figures. When someone with authority in such a culture tells people that something is necessary, they listen.
The reality is that no conclusive benefits can be attributed to circumcision. Virtually every claim is countered in half a dozen other studies. We do know, however, that circumcisions come with a variety of possible complications. Those are readily available from virtually every country in the world that practices circumcision.

it has not just recently been discovered that foreskin removal prevents AIDS.
such a belief was precisely what the authors of that article wished to AVOID. they said it MAY REDUCE AIDS, and people must continue to use safe sex equipment ;)
actually, that wasn't even a study, it was just a different statistical analysis applied to research data from a collection of studies that did not individually show that foreskin removal reduced aids.
this is because the research design of those studies was correlational.
only experimental research designs can be used to support a causal statement eg 'circumcision causes a reduction in aids'
therefore, no matter how fancy the statistics looks, it is still not evidence that circumcision reduces aids.
-i don't know the answer to your question, as interesting as it is, but just thought i should clarify that point, also note that the point was off topic in the first place lol!

I don't know about it being more popular nowadays, but yes, circumcision is very common in non-Muslim and non-Jewish (who also must do it according to their religion) communities in the USA. I really don't know why. Most men here are circumcized, including Catholics, Italians and Irish, who back in Europe are not circumsized.

I'm uncut, and it is a hassle to make sure everything is out before I put it away. It is a precaution to take to avoid 3 week old piss that the circumcized people do not have to take.

that's allowed for women and non-Muslims to circulate into mosques, as long as they admire the gown code and cleanliness circumstances. The worldwide places the place they do no longer enable it are no longer relatively strict Muslims, they're certainly EXTREMIST or ignorant. concerning to the citation you reported, it is not from the Quran. there's a Hadith (saying of Prophet Muhammad) that announces: "do no longer limit the ladies servants of Allah from traveling the mosques of Allah". This became into the prepare in the time of the life of the Prophet and for some years after that. Later there have been problems and lack of self assurance in some places so it became into favored that ladies no longer circulate, yet it relatively is not a spiritual prepare. additionally some cultures are too suppressive of ladies, like that of India, via results of the Hindu faith and lifestyle, and thanks to this in those places women are no longer allowed to circulate right into a mosque. actually, those are rotten traditions which could be abolished, via fact the unique Islam gave the suggestions-blowing to women to choose in the mosques, to examine, to artwork, and to take part in public life alongside with politics. As for non-Muslims getting into Mosques, there is an oft-misunderstood verse in the Quran that prohibits the disbelievers from going frequently to mosques. A mosque is a place for prayer certainly, even nonetheless it is visited via somebody who's inquisitive approximately Islam, or on an identical time as a vacationer, as long as they admire the worshipers and don't produce noise or enter with beside the point outfits. The verse became into concerning to the polytheists who used to circulate to the Holy Mosque in Mecca frequently to worship their idols. As there have been not greater idols and that they weren't relatively worshiping Allah, there became into no clarification for them to circulate to the Holy Mosque in Mecca from now on. desire this makes issues clean.
