They can be extremely elusive. They get under our house every winter, so we put out rat traps and also chunks of "One Bite". The thing about "one bite" is that it makes them thirsty so when they die from it, they leave the house in search of water. The water activates the poison, so you don't end up with dead rat smell in your house! I know it's not the most humane thing to do, but when they're destroying my home, they're dead meat!

rat poison put it in a length of pipe and put it in place along a wall that he is running along
you can tell this by the dirty grease mark along the wall ensure that if you have pets they can't reach into the pipe

if you don't want to use poison a suitable trap in the same type of area and keep changing the bait raw bacon works best

Give him some love and attention, he wont bother you again. He just sit next to you watchinig TV and sipping bear too if he was offered. When he then dies of old age you will give him a decent burial and only his pictures to remind you of him. when he is gone he is gone then. Then perhaps you wanna look for another one. I hope this cheered you up.

put out a dish of coke --the carbonated water makes them blow up -cause they cant pass gass or burp---i moved in with my boyfriend he had one that sounded like 10 of them in the attic -i put coke out 3 nights -the 1st night i couldnt tell the 2 nd night i knew he was sick --his scampering sounded less rambucious--the 3 rd night he was sick and wondered on a sticky pad that hadnt worked all the previous months--and we were able to take him out side and get him off the pad with a stick --and we havent had any since--I think he warned his friends about us.
