My dog is white with black ears and black eyespots. I joked that he has two black eyes, and you should see the other guy! So I named him "Champ"
I had a big brown rabbit named "Benjamin Bunny", after a Beatrix Potter character in the Peter Rabbit stories.
My daughter had a black rabbit with a white ring around his neck. She named him "Oreo".
My son had a fluffy dust-gray rabbit named "Dusty".
We have 3 firebelly toads my daughter named the smallest one "Peewee" and I nicknamed the other two "Piggy" because he would eat everything in sight (even gravel), and "Booger" because when I poured him out of the baggy he came home in, he slid out in a slime trail.

My first cat (now deceased) was called Pandora after one of the vampires in the Anne Rice novels.
My two current cats are named Hagrid and Neville because I'm a Harry Potter fan. Likewise the dog is named Tonks.

I name most of my pets by intuition. Sometimes I come across a pet that just HAS to be named something because it feels right.
I have 17 birds. Most of them were named after transformers or after TV shows. I have Mindwipe, Redshift, Paris, Buzzsaw, MyGirl (a rescue and named by her former owner). Gum, Arabic, Chase, Squick and Farscape. The Green Cheeck conures are Brazil and Bolivia with their chicks Andes, Sub Zero, Equinox, Solstice and Flight.
The cats are Countess (because she used to think she was royalty when she was a kitten), Gerta (rescued with that name) and Aussie. Aussie used to hide 'down under' everything and I swore he meowed with an accent ^.^ .
The rats are Loki (God of chaos and mischief), Bunker (After Archie Bunker), and Digital (Pokemon was in my head at the time, LOL!). The girl ratties are Freedom (Because she liked to escape and find her 'freedom' when she was younger), Meri (adopted with that name) and lady Brisby. Mrs Brisby was a character in a book called Mrs Brisby and the Rats of NIMH and Lady Brisby seemed to be the polite kind of rat that reminded me of that character :-) .
The Guinea Pigs are named after star trek characters. My boar is Spock and my sow is Tribbles.
The fish are named 'the Guppies' (I have too many to count so I just call them 'the guppies' >.< ) and 'Jaws'. Jaws is a goldfish. Jaw's real name is Lippy, as when it was younger it had dark markings on its lip. It got changed to Jaws when it ate its roommates several days after I bought them >.< .

I have two Siberian Huskies. One has a very exotic looking face (referring to her markings), with piercing blue eyes. I thought she should have an exotic-sounding name, so I named her Xenia, after Xenia, the princess warrior. And the name fits - she definitely thinks she is the princess! My other Siberian Huskey is named Bayleigh. While she is marked differently than my other dog, and does not have the "exotic" look of my other dog, she does have one blue eye and one brown eye, and is rather cute. The name Bayleigh just seemed to fit her.

Well, I have 5 pets: 3 ferrets and 2 dogs. I named one dog Peanut because he is small. The other dog Brandi because she is the color of the liquor. One ferret Pepper because she is colored like pepper. One ferret Prince because he looks like a noodle and I didn't want to call him noodle, so I chose Prince (a brand of noodles). The last one I named Oreo because he looks like an oreo. His colors I mean. They all have food related names. I hope this helps. Good luck!!!

Our first cat was Sonia when we adopted her, but we shortened it to Soni cause it was easier. Psycho - this particular name explains itself. Then we adopted a kitten named Morgan...changed it to Ewok, cause she looked like one...then changed from Ewok to Trouble, because damn that cat was hell. Curious or Rocket would have worked too. (She sniffed at the Christmas presents so much my mum finally went "PSST" and poor little Trouble jumped two feet backwards and up into the rocking chair. Still haven't figured out how she managed that one.)

My oldest dog is "Sammy No Brains" after Michael Hutchence's character in Dogs in Space. Next is "Albert" because he looks like his name should be Albert. "Angelo" came with that name from the rescue where I got him. My oldest cat is "Myrna Minkoff" after the character in the book "Confederacy of Dunces." The next is "Bug" because she was very small when I got her, and now it fits because all she does is live in my house and eat. "Moo Moo" got her name by the way she meows. "Lil' Bunny Thing'' is a cat with no tail who looks sort of like a grey rabbit. And "The Chicken" is my cockatoo. I sure wish she would cluck instead of scream. My friend named his beta fish "Mizu Donburibachi." I am sure I spelled it wrong, but I think it is supposed to mean "Water Bowl" in Japanese. My beta is "Phinneas" because he has tiny phins....uh....fins.
