Dear Bright Eyes: probably best to hold this conversation with your friend Max--but since you've come to the community for help, let's think it over...
1) he's probably embarrassed. He doesn't want to let on that you know more than he does.
2) He doesn't want to get into the difficult question of "where did you learn about these different positions?"
3) Young guys aren't really all that curious. They get-off very easily. And getting-off in one position (the old "missionary") is just as well as getting-off in any of the more exciting--girl on top, 69, side-straddle, etc.
4) Bottom-line: Max isn't that curious right now. Go easy on him. Introduce slowly. Don't make it a big deal. (You don't want to scare away your big hunk, do you?). Best to you and Max!

This is the teen/preteen section, so remember, you're at an age when you still live with your parents, and most of you haven't had any or much sex yet, and all you know about it is what the people around you tell you about it. Which isn't always accurate. So Max may feel bashful about sex simply because his knowledge may come soley from religious or cultural beliefs.

Maybe he is not yet ready to discuss delicate sensitive issues like this. Try to raise the issue again when he is ready and open to listen and elaborate about your concern. Sex can be fond as long as you both find ways to discover new positions and techniques. It should be mutually fond and enjoyable to both of you. proper timing and place should be present to make your lovemaking a wonderful experience to remember for years to come. Good luck.

He may be shy. He knows that he can't meet your expectations when you two have sex. Hahahaha!

maybe he's shy to trying new things out in the bedroom, or he just wants to be dominant by not experimenting...
