It seems that all people care about is sex. Every time you start to chat with someone, GAY or Straight, they chat a few minutes and jump right into sex. Where are freinds and non sexual relationships? I'm not looking to a ses romp with everyone out there, why is everyone else.

You are referring to online right? I have no clue. All I know is you are right about most of the gay men online but that is the opposite for the gay women.

I don't think that's true. There are many people out there that want meaningful long-term relationships. Yeah they want those relationships to have sex in them, but not as the focus. Love is the main focus.

If you are only finding people that want a one night stand then you have to start looking somewhere else. Or at different kinds of people outside your "type" because what you think you want and what you really want could be very different. Get away from clubs and bars and try groups like river rafting or something.

There is an awful lot of lonly folks out there.

Now.. usually the subject is more a topic in vary young groups but its seems as ive gotten older it happens less and less then again it maybe because im married.

The hormones die down around mid twenties.. and i guess thas when i noticed a decline.. If this isnt the case with you however and your older.. then your group of friends are porbably just more confortable with one another then the adverage group. and thats not uncommon either.. Try not to have too much anxiety.. about the subject.. rather it might be benefical to see why it bothers you. If it makes you fieel guitly etc.

Sex seems to be on everyone's mind! It's really disappointing! I don't know what age group that you represent - but I will assume that I am older than you! No matter how you start the conversation out - no matter how careful you are with what you say - sex is always there! Sometimes it can be totally repulsive - situations that are clearly not sexual - individuals that you would die rather than to have sex with them - and age is definitely not a criteria! It's almost like from ages just barely legal (18) to barely alive (90), blind, cripple, and crazy.
It's sickening and disappointing!

I know exactly what your saying. When i go into a chat room , i go there to chat not make cyber love. I think people think that the internet is one big sex machine. But i have found ppl out there who are like us and just want to chat. Usually we end up making fun of all the old perverts in the chat room.

I know exactly what you mean, I hate that. Here I am, thinking I'm about to have an intellectual chat with someone of like mind, and they go "Do you have a webcam? Do you have a pic?" And they want to cyber or something dumb like it. It gets annoying because then I really do start to think "Am I the only one not geared towards sex ALL the time?" I mean, geez, can I get your name first?

If the people you are talking with want to talk about sex after a few minutes, what kind of people are you talking to and, where? A bar, a nightclub, and how old are these people? You need to get out and meet some decent people elsewhere, like at church or civic organization, charity etc..

So If someone wants to actually talk, that is what I do. I have a life and dont need to talk about such things with strange people on the internet.

I have made lots of friendships on the web and am very popular in real life -- they aren't all sexual ---- in fact, I have a lover for many, many years now --- most of them aren't sexual.

People do like cyber of course, but that's really masturbation. If ind that about half who start that to whom I say "I just want to be friends" stop talking to me, the other half become my friends.

Regards,

Reyn
