I save aluminum cans for recycling and turn them in for 36 cents a pound .
I had 5 garbage cans I was not useing , so I decided to put signs on them that say aluminum can recycling and place them next to garbage cans behind stores and offices .It was going well I was reciving about 10 - 20 cans a day , but now I am finding no cans at all .
Some one is stealing the cans , what should
I do ?
Should I go nuts and check for cans several times a day or just remove the bins and give up ?
Lol ,I am wasting too much time with this !

you should drink a bunch of red bull and hide behind the dumpster with a baseball bat and "catch" that thief, and make it clear to them that it is not allright for them to steal your cans!

since the cans were in public trash bins, they aren't being stolen from you. When you put up signs that said 'recycling' on the bins, all you did was advertise the fact that there was free money in them.

Move your can collectors to different places. I wouldn't put too much money into trying to keep them safe---I'm sure others turn them in also. As usual---you do the work---someone else benefits.

Put a simple lock on the cans. It won;t stop harcore thieves, but it will discourage petty theives.
