I saw written a few times on road side electrical boxes in the Chesham the following words "Homophobia is gay", I laughed so much... what do you think?

Hilarious - it works on so many levels. Many people don't get irony though, I think it is more present in British humour than in other cultures.

Partly that's a play on words -- most homophobes are gay as the Georgia University Study on the topic pretty much proved. Also however, its stupid -- and that's how kids who are likely to be writing on boxes by the road think.

We have a young gay friend, who is very sweet and has an even nicer and sweeter boyfriend. His printer does not always work, and his b/f tells us that he will get upset with the printer and announce to everyone "this printer is gay" in frustration, which people who still know the older slang find very funny -- because he and Dan are lovers.

So its also funny on levels.

Yeah that's ironic but I like it. I get so aggravated with my younger brother that is constantly saying this is gay or that is gay. I try to explain to him that using the term gay as a negative derogatory manner to describe something creates a block against homosexuality issues ever being taken seriously.

He didn't get what I was saying until I told him to think of it like this: what if instead of gay he used the word black. .... that is so black.. etc... Then he caught on.

Yeah, while I generally correct people who use the word "gay" to describe something that is bad, or messed up, I do se the irony, and you get a chuckle and two yucks.

If you really look into the saying, its true, now isn't it? Most homophobes are gay, and are too weak to be it, so because of lack of good sex, they hate those that have great sex.

It's fairly clever, yes - sadly I'm sure the irony would be lost on most homophobes.

It is true though, a lot them are. I call a buddy of mine homophobe all the time and he gets nervous and fidgety, screaming he isn't. Hmmm........
