The Lebanese leader, Nasrallah, had said that the two captured Israeli soldiers would be released if three Lebanese prisoners were released by Israel. So why did Israel need to go invade Lebanon? And what are they doing attacking civilians and civilian airports?? (I cite the Washington Post, "Israeli attacks killed five others, bringing the toll in Lebanon to at least 66 dead, nearly all of them civilians.") And please don't accuse me of being anti-semetic—I'm half Jewish...

I'm assuming you don't know who Samir Quntar is. He's a Lebanese and "honorary Palestinian" hero.

Look him up. That's who Lebanon wants to go free.

By the way, anti-Semitism is an equal opportunity sickness. It can affect a Jew just as easily as a non-Jew.

Why did Israel attacked? What instigated this? You might try asking Hezbollah why they kidnapped an Israeli soldier. Let's think about this, if this was your son that was kidnapped by Hezbollah would you not be extremely ticked off? On the other hand the Palestine Government Official stated "Hostage" will be release if Israel freed some prisoners, The key word they used was "Hostage" which is a standard terrorist tactics, There is no Government in the world that would make hostage without causing a war. Terrorist does not know how to solve political problems peacefully.

The reason that Israel is in the this situation is because they've always "talked" with the Palestinians. This is bigger than Lebanon. Today the president of Iran said that "soon the world will see the demise of Israel"

Can't anyone see what is happening? "Coincedence" that in the course of a week?

we have

Train bombing in India
North Korea Launches Missle
Israeli Soldiers kidnapped
Iran makes statements like the above.

There is an axis forming.

And to top it all off, the UN is against Israel - ALL the time. It's not the Israelis going across the border to blow buses up. Common people.

Correction, Nasrallah is not lebanese.. The war will never stop in Lebanon. Israel likes to use force, kidnapping 2 soldiers is not right to do, and neither is shutting down the country and bombing innoccent people. I grew up in Lebanon during the civil war, and I despise Israel. What a loss of life and what a power trip.
But I believe their turn will come one day.

I really don't understand where Lebanon is going with this. They killed three Israeli soldiers while kidnapping the other two. And plus I read that 25% of the World's oil goes through one of Israel's straits. They are putting the World's economy on hold and killing people like you and me. They are both wrong for what hey have done.

Israeli official policy is to never negotiate with terrorists. And besides Nasrallah's goons started this in the first place by doing those two kidnappings. Essentially doing what you said means that Israel would be rewarding Nasrallah for his efforts which would result in more kidnappings. I agree that the bombings are needless and utterly stupid (personally a sniper or assassin would be better), but you can never really negotiate with terrorists. Especially terrorists who have sworn to destroy your people and country.

Israel has had so much in the way of attacks upon her own people...The Palestinians and the Israelites have been going at it forever it seems. I think what we are seeing is all of the countries surrounding Israel is trying to put the squeeze on the small country and Israel is fighting back the best she knows how.

Hard to be peaceful with a group who's charter says your people must be eliminated from the face of the earth.

Israel should keep going and give them a lesson they won't soon forget.
