How do you tell if the baby hamster is a boy or a girl? My brother got two hamsters from a pet store - supposidly both female. Then Princess gave birth (now we're not even sure if Vicsous is male or female.) But back to the question. I mean what do you do; lift them up by their hind legs to tell?

I know we have to separate the babies by gender...but nothing is telling me how!

Take the beer away from that squirrel and give it to the hampster. When he passes out, look and see

You turn them on their backs & hold them gently so you can look at their genitals.
Has pics but usually hamster balls on Syrians can be readily seen & that site shows the underparts of the Dwarves too!!

Trust me, when they are at the age that you can tell, you WILL know. The males are 'well endowed'!
