Not that they could win but it is embarrasing for the whole nation, that they have no team to field.

I guess McClain said he might be a pinch hitter for them if no one else shows up.

A better question is....by 2008 will there be any Republicans that aren't in jail???

I've seen the lists of potentials. I am independent and moderate, and to be honest, there not a lot of substance in the list of "possible" Democrats. Announced candidates so far are Joe Biden, Christopher Dodd, and Mike Gravel of Alaska. The only decent one on the list of "possibles" is Wesley Clark.

Of course, there's not much decent being offered from the other side, either. I liked McCain until he chose party over pride. I think Giuliani would be an OK choice, or Romney, but that's about it.

edit: I do like John Edwards, but the fact that he was the #2 for Kerry and a former senator won't play well. Romney and Giuliani tend to be moderate Republicans, and may pull in a few moderate Independents if we see the Democrats pick Hillary or Kerry again (God forbid).

Are you paying any real attention or just pushing a specific agenda.

As it stands now it looks like Democrats will be pulling off a land-slide win in the mid-terms.

As to who will probably get the Democratic bid in two years, it will probably be John Edwards. He's a moderate and has a very favorible image from the last debates. Democrats will select a moderate this time.

The only chance the Republicans have for holding onto the White House is to also nominate a moderate. This will go to McCain if he wants it.

Edwards or Warner are better than anyone the Republicans have... Romney's a Mormon and Giuliani's a new york liberal... good luck with those guys in the south...hahaha

is McCain the only guy you know? that's all you talk about for either side?

I'd rather live in a country where candidates do not spend 2 1/2 years running for President.

I agree.

I was surprised how divided they are. only thing that united them is hatred toward Bush.
