Based on the little information you have provided, I would go with the Peyton Manning card. However, before you grade it, there are a couple things you can do to determine if you should spend the money on card grading.

1) Use a magnifying glass to inspect the card surface (this way, if you find a flaw or two, then the grading company will find several more most likely and give you a low grade)
2) Check out values of graded cards at their different ratings (believe it or not, unless you hit a Gem Mint 10 or a Mint 9 in some cases, the graded card actually becomes LESS valuable than the original card value; strange as that may sound)
3) Check grading prices and rates - PSA and Beckett are the two leading graders by volume and hobby knowledge, so their rates will be higher.

If either card is a rookie card, then grading either card may be potentially beneficial. So, if your Manning card is a 1998 or your Irvin is from 1989, then you may have a more valuable card in your hand, especially if it is Manning.

Grading is always a gamble. Also, make sure you have pictures of the card before it is sent out. That way, if anything happens to your card at the company and they try to blame it on you, then you have something to back your end up.

Good luck with this and future collecting!!
