I just got an unknown stain out of some clothes a friend gave me for my daughter. I used what a nursing friend told me to use, all of the nurses use it at the hospital where she works. It is NO RINSE shampoo. You can sometimes find it at walmart, but always at beauty supply stores. it is a liquid you can use in your hair if you are in the hospital or sick and cannot wah your hair with water. She said all they do it pour some on the stain and rub it out.
So far it works great for me and the bottle lasts a long time.
Good luck,
You could take the gown to the dry cleaner first and ask for an estimate I guess, but any way you look at it, it is cheaper than buying a new gown.
or, shop around at consignment stores for a cheap dress that would be all your own.

I would try oxy clean first, it works great on organic type stains (like cranberry juice). I wouldn't put the whole dress in, just the part with the stain.
On dry cleaning, depending on how much trims/etc., the dress has on it, I'm guessing around $50. Also depending on where you live in the country. I pay $35 when I have my daughter's prom dress cleaned, so I'm guessing it would be more than that. I would also take it to a very good dry cleaner, you might ask a bridal store for a recommendation. Good luck.

Oxyclean! I swear by this stuff. I removed 3 or 4 year old dried blood and chocolate stains from a pair of jeans. I would use the spray because powder might be too rough on the fabric. Look for the wipes you can take with you anywhere. Those are a lifesavers.
The cost of dry cleaning depends on where you are. I would suspect somewhere between $35-60.

Rayon is a particularly tough fabric to remove stains from, particularly sweat stains and a wine stain. In addition to seamstress's suggestions, I'd add soaking the entire garment in a solution of cold water and cream of tartar. Get a couple of bottles of the stuff (it's in the spice rack) add to water and soak the dress, preferably overnight. And she's also right, that's why you never store clothing that hasn't been cleaned. You can put it back in your closet if you're going to wear it again shortly, but for any length of time (1 month or longer) the garment should always be cleaned before storing it.

Consult a dry cleaner. I bet they can do it. I bet Oxyclean or whatever that stuff is will. I mean dry is dry be it 3 years or a few days
the cost of cleaning i would guess 30-40$ tops but then again not sure, but cheaper than a new one
