I just watched it again. Great movie. But it is now TWENTY years old. I wonder if young people get it??? Or is it just 'uncool' because it is not recent????

>>>i love the story a lot: A diverse group of high schoolers forced to spend detention on a Saturday in the library. Forced to make the best of their circumstances, they learn to understand each other and discover that in spite of their initial differences, they actually share many common feelings and problems

Young people of this day and age do not get that movie. I don't think they could be that deep about the issues that were discussed in "The Breakfast Club." It was a good movie. I watched it when I was sixteen.

Yeah, but it's kinda silly, I guess... I mean, there's not a whole lot of plot, is there? And how does he not get in trouble for breaking the ceiling? And how could they not get caught ripping up books?

We get it... we just don't really like it that much... I mean, nowadays (and back then too I gather) it's SO unlikely that a guy like Emilio Estevez would ever go out with a girl like Allie Sheedy.

I'm only 21, and I've seen the movie more times than I can remember. Movies like that are timeless, every generation will watch it.

My husband showed it to his little brother, who was about 20 at the time, & he enjoyed it. He was able to understand about the different groups of kids & how they interact, or should I say don't involve themselves, with each other's group.

No, nobody is going to tape butt cheeks together. they may bring a flare gun to school or be class stoner, but they are not going to crash detention on a saturday if they don't have to, and really who give away a diamond earring?

I've never seen all of it, but I like it and I'm almost as old as the movie itself.

I'm 18 and it's definitely one of my favorite movies.

I think it will remain a 'classic' for a long time.

My teens and their friends have all seen it many times. They all love it. There are always cliques and those issues for kids of any generation. Best line: "there's my fake i.d. so I can vote."
