I have asked this question recently, but I think I chose the wrong category because I did not get answers. I will try again, even if this is not the most logical category. Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey is coming to a nearby town -- the Gold Tour (An Upside Down World). I took my family to the Hometown Tour 2 years ago. Has anyone been to the Gold Tour? How was it? If you know, how does it compare to the Hometown Tour. It will cost me about $300 to take my whole clan, so I need recommendations before the tickets go on sale Monday morning (July 17).

This is not a question about animals. It is a question that pertains to 2 specific performances. If you have not attended, please to not clutter the answer field with unsolicited opines. Save those for the PETA discussions in another forum.

Get the cheapest tickets. If you have ever seen the movie "The Greatest Show on Earth", then you'll be in for a big let down. They had only one ring, frisbee catching dogs, two elephants, and about six horses, the rest were human acts. Oh, and only two clowns. If you saw the 1950's movie, then it's a very, VERY BIG difference. The movie had three rings, a LOT of human performers (at least a dozen clowns for example), and more animals than just dogs and horses. They had dozens of horses, at least 2 dozen elephants, lions and tigers and bears (oh MY!), and a lot more performances.

This circus I went to had awesome light and sound effects, and funny clown acts, but I was sort of let down. I mean, this was THE ringling bros and barnum and bailey! I WAS EXPECTING A 3 RING CIRCUS! I was let down.

Be sure to bring lots of cash too. Cotton candy was $10 for a bag (with a litte Dr. Suess "Cat in the Hat" Style hat with the circus logo all over it. Without the hat, cotton candy would be cheaper, but they didn't sell it without the hat. Oh well). The show lasted three hours ( I think ) with an intermission in the middle, which allowed my neice and I enough time to find the bathroom and use it, and buy more cotton candy (Because she ate the whole bag and I didn't get ANY!)

Me neice enjoyed it. She really did. I felt let down about the one ring, but otherwise I had fun being there and spending time with her.

If you saw the movie, prepare to be slightly let down, if not - and you haven't been to the circus last year - ENJOY!!!

I as quickly as enjoyed going to the circus for the sheer style of each and every thing occurring at as quickly as interior the jewelry and interior the air. There are 2 vacationing circuses that come each and every three hundred and sixty 5 days - the huge Ringling Bros circus which marches the elephants down the component streets to the Anaheim Honda center and the Vargas Circus which nonetheless makes use of a giant huge right tent. I observed the Vargas circus approximately 15 yrs in the past and that replaced into the final one. additionally I went to work out the Cirque de Soleil that's magical - no animals - only those with an wonderful musical topic. They mess around the country and there are additionally countless distinctive variations enjoying in Las Vegas. i assume that replaced into my maximum recent circus bypass to approximately 4 yrs in the past.
