Okay, here's the fictional sistuation: A man hits his wife in his front yard and calls her a bad name, then returns inside his home leaving here. The woman seems to take the abuse and sulks back into the home. Would you call the police or look the other way, choosing not to be nosey? Next situation: A mother or father disiplines his child by hitting, abusive yelling, or knocking him/her around. Do you contact Child Protective Services or do you decided that what goes on in their home is their business? It's just another social experiment. Please be honest. If you would look the other way, admit it. If you would do something about it, then admit it. I'm not trying to judge, I just wanted a feel for human nature.

I would think about it. But sometimes Police do not like to get involved in domestic disputes. A lot of times the wife will not press charges

I would hate to see a lady or a child get abused by a parent .

If you do call it in then the neighbors in question will find out it was you and this could cause you to have a confrontation with the abuser.

I thinks sometimes decisions in life are a double edged sword

First off to answer both questions at once, yes I would report it. I have been there myself with an abusive boyfriend and he would beat me and drag me by my hair outside a public place, and believe it or not no one bothered to call someone or say something. That upset me. There are people out there that can not defend themselves or afraid to for they may be beaten more. And kids should never have to be mistreated! They will only grow up knowing its alright to hit and say hurtful things to others and thats where it all starts. I would not care if that person was upset with me for calling for help, at least I would feel better knowing that I did try to help and maybe that person will not have a chance of hurting someone else.

I would try to help in any way I could especially if I suspected abuse at an earlier date and wasn't sure.I've been in the first situation and no one ever tried to help.
I would most definitely intervene especially if I'd noticed suspicious bruises at an earlier date. Too many young children are dying because adults are abusing them. It's so heartbreaking when you see that in the news.

Come on you don't love her your just attached because love only hurts your heart and love is betwwen 2 people who care and respect each other. THey do not abuse each other you just need to stop all contact with her because what she gives you is problems and she will end up with all your stuff and you will end up in jail paying her price. Why do you think you love her did your father and mother treat you like this. LIES LIES and if she tell you she loves you its all LIES to get what she wants. I would have not even thought about dating her when she first told you about (bcuz these hitmen were after her dad and tryed to kill her, she sed she had an ex who beat her all the time, that her mom locked her in the house, that she got beat up so bad from school she was in intensive care. I felt so sorry for her and we began dating) OMG HITMEN oh and you do not inject your wrist.

Yes I would report both situations, furthermore it either the child or the mother came to the hospital in which I work it is my duty as a registered nurse to report any suspicions of domestic violence. There is no excuse for abuse!

Yes I would call the police, and if the child was in danger, I would probably be compelled to step in before they get there. Same with the woman getting seriously hurt. Someone has to champion the underdog.

for the first situation no i wouldnt....if she is taking the abuse there is no way she would want me interfering 'cos she would probably deny it happened so it would be pointless

for the second situation yes i would contact social services(english child protective sevices) because it is society's responsibility to protect vulnerable children from abuse, if we dont who will and anyway i wouldnt be able to live with myself if i didnt....
