I think there's a possibility Ben Wallace might not have the gigantic impact people are immediately assuming he will in Chicago. He doesn't provide the Bulls with what they need the most: inside scoring, heck now the bulls are going to be playing 4 on 5 everytime on the offensive end. He is turning 32 and his numbers have been going down since 02-03.
02-03: 6.9 pts 15.4 rebs - his peak
03-04: 9.5 pts 12.4 rebs - downhill
04-05: 9.7 pts 12.2 rebs - downhill
05-06: 7.3 pts 11.3 rebs - way downhill

Well his game is basically dependent on his athleticism because he's only 6'9 so what happens when that athleticism starts deteriorating with age? He's going to be with the Bulls for 4 years, you have to think about his develpoment not only know but for the next 4 years. I just wouldn't spend that much money for somebody who's gonna be really old pretty soon.

Shaq wasn't the reason they won the championship. They won it because of Wade.

ben wallace will be his usual monster on defense but he will also be the same offensive player in detroit... he will be a big disappointment because of the hype and huge contract he just received, bulls management and fans think he is the savior of the team which clearly he isnt, and we can expect the same if not lower averages for big ben next season, he is old and he is past his prime... i mean just look at his stats... right there... stats dont lie...

Ben Wallace a disapointment? His downhill stat slide you showed us only showed 1 thing .... the players on his team stepped up to relieve him of having to grab 15.4 rebounds a game. Check out their stats and you'll see an uphill change. Not to mention he's had Rasheed Wallace on his team for the past 2 years. Take gary Payton for instance and his move to L.A a few years ago when the Lakers were creating and all-star team on there starting line-up. He wasn't expected to score 18 to 20 points a game like he was in Seattle because he had Shaq, Kobe, and Karl Malone on his team. Three big scorers. His scoring went down but it was impossible for him to keep his point average when he had the scoring stars on his team. Big Ben has Sheed and McDysse Relieving him of grabbing so many rebounds a game. No, Ben will not be an upset. Getting on a new team he will feel the hype and rip the boards down seeing how he doesn't have the relief anymore. The bulls aren't worried about a 4 on five offensive game. Players fill in their role as it is. He's D player, he plays D and get's the bunny shots, dunks, and lay-ups as they come to him. His D is why he's an all-star. He did get Defensive player of the year 4 times, not scoring champion, but that was a good question and I hope some light was shown on the subject.

no matter were ben wallace goes, he will make a impact. Ben wallace is one of the most hardworking individuals in the league, he will be the one who sticks his hand out to meet his teamates. There will be chemistry, because now tyson chandler will not be starting and letting people get easy baskets. Ben wallace is a sure hall of famer, and he will bring a swagger, and a attitude the bulls were looking for, he may be 32 but he benches 450 pounds, so i dont think age is a factor.
The more important question what will the pistons do with out him. Without ben wallace that deteriarating defense is gone, there is no defense now on there team. Next year they are going to play like the pheonix suns, but without the high field goal percentages.

Who has won a championship the last 3 years? The best offensive teams or the best defensive teams?
By the way, you make a point about how the bulls need inside scoring so badly, then you claim that his numbers went "downhill" as his PPG rose 2 years in a row.
He is a big inside presence that will score when he gets the opportunity. Its not like Chandler (or any of their recent centers) ever scores either.

Ive been a bulls fan for 20 yrs.. I cant watch them anymore.. Gordon avgs 17 pts an nighttime .. in spite of the indisputable fact that even as u score 35 and hten 8 its stressful.. No low placed up guy... Paxson were given underminded. The crew is giving up now and purely waiting to be set else the position. i imagine Deng, Gordon, Wallace and Hinrich all want to be different communities. there is too a lot rigidity there bc of the Jordan era. purely imagine in the journey that they were too get to the finals and win ... astounding they could nevertheless pick better like a three peat. Its unhappy, yet authentic. Bulls fan were spoiled from the Jordan era. i'm one in each and every of them!

I am a Bull's fan and I think he will be somewhat of a disappointment. I hope I am wrong, but he aint getting any younger. Then again, Rodman was a defensive phenom and was a huge success with the Bulls. But we don't have a Jordan to score points. Perhaps he will allow Gordan and Heinrich to blossom as star shooters???

I believe Ben Wallace will have a hard time in Bulls because almost none of the players in the team are real basketball players, and again he is not that efficient for making the team leap.what made Detriot Pistons such a good team was their teamwork and fantastic cooperation, and not single players like Big Ben.anyway,I wish him good luck.
