I really believe that the few times it came to that, they were always the so called "white lies" that seem to solve the problem for the better for all concerned.
An example, the wife asks, "Were you drinking while you were out?" and I give the little white lie, "Of course not!, No way!" Because when I was drinking I was inside the bar, or inside the club, whatever. Any dummy knows that you can be arrested for public intoxication with a beer in the hand while on the street. Right? Stuff like that. (I just made that up). Really! Well, or so it seems to me.

I just don't understand why lying is so frowned upon. Lying isn't anywhere in the 10 Commandments, but closest thing to it is "Thou shalt not bear false testimony against thy neighbour" which basically it isn't the lying, but the maliciousness of that type of lie.
I think that the type of lie to spare someone else's feelings or to protect ourselves from judgmental people (including the lies that Clinton told) isn't that morally wrong in my opinion. It may be illegal, but most certainly not immoral.

Yeah but 99% of the time I wind up telling them the truth a minute later. (Not because I get caught, just because I have a conscience)
example: My friend wants to know where his phone is at but I am hiding it so I tell him that I don't know. I let him look all over the place for it. I even call his phone from my phone, but because I am sitting on it he can barely hear it! A minute later I'll tell him where it's at.

Yes, but just little white lies. Sometimes to children who ask an adult-oriented question.

Yes. My grandfather once said that sometimes you have to lie to keep the peace. Sometimes it's not a bad thing to lie if it will keep someone from getting hurt.

I believe that there must be a little hypocrisy for there to be civilization so I lie sometimes to maintain civility.
