Well I do not hate the French. I do not hate anyone for their race or religion. I am with Shivers on this. I am Australian and we have our good and our bad people also. No country is free of blights in their history. I am sorry my so called Prime Minister got my country caught up in the sorry mess in the Middle East also. It's not something I am proud of. The troops are only doing what they are directed, so no animosity is felt toward them as such. I know a few French people who are just wonderful, I know Aussies who are too and Americans and Italians etc etc and then some are not. Stereotypes and generalisations are not a good way to judge a persons character or worth, neither is just looking at their nationality.

""""because they abanded america when we needed them most during the war stupid frenchis""""
I'm American and I must say, based on the Shrub's lying and his utter contempt for the truth and for what anyone else has to say for that matter, the French (and Germans) were right not to get mixed up in the Iraqi mess our beloved ****** of a President has got us stuck in... To hell with Bush and his wacko potheaded friends. All of them are traitors to this nation (sending troops to get killed for their own petty interests) and a disgrace to the memory of our Founding Fathers.
That being said SOME French (in GENERAL; doesn't apply to everyone) can be arrogant and chauvinistic and of course find the lamest excuses for their shortcomings. But then again, SOME Americans are also just as arrogant. The real bad point with SOME French and also SOME Europeans in GENERAL is their rudeness. I was passing through Paris three-four years ago during the summer (extreme) heat wave carrying my bags to the train station. Well, since I tend to sweat excessively, my shirt was all wet when I reached the ticket counter. The asswipe behind the counter asked me with a smirk, "Oh!! Is it raining outside??". I wanted to ring his neck there and then...and BTW: I am bilingual, and speak fluent French, so his making fun of me had nothing to do with America....I guess in all cases: THERE IS BOTH GOOD AND BAD PEOPLE EVERYWHERE!!!

When I was in France they pretended they couldn't understand my French. Although my vocabulary is not extensive, I know my accent is perfectly clear.
In general they are haughty and rude to Americans. Some young folks from Canada told me they tried to check into a hotel, but the concierge thought they were Americans and said no rooms were available. So the kids turned around to leave and the guy saw the maple leaf on one of their backpacks and said Oh, you're Canadian, that's different - you can stay!

According to stereotypes, the French are snobbish, arrogant and suffer from a "grandeur" complex, meaning they believe France is the greatest nation in the world. Their hygiene is very poor, that's why they invented perfume. They eat frogs, snails and fish eggs. Etc, etc...
People should just check them out themseleves instead of believing in stereotypes. Like in any other country, there's good and bad people. Maybe you have just met bad people so far...
Stereotypes aren't funny at all. They promote racism and discrimination, which sometimes lead to violence and war.
That's sad. We are all "citizens of the world" and should learn to live in peace.
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one... ;-)

Because they can be really snobby sometimes and think they are better then everyone but that's only some I haven't been there so I'm not totally sure but that's what I've heard but I know they are not all like that some are probably really nice. But some are jerks like there are in all countries but I know what you mean.

Why would you hate an entire nation? Seems like an awfully stong emotion for a bunch of people you don't really know. . .
