all i find in google is stuff like the Kokoda trail info, stuff to do with the a-bomb but nothing to do with the innocent migrants in Aus...

Unlike places like the USA and Peru, Australia had a very restrictive immigration policy prior to World War II regarding non-white people. In fact, when US ships called at Australian ports, the black sailors were not even allowed off of the vessels for shore leave. You will also remember that, prior to 9/11, a cargo ship full of Afghan refugees was refused by the Australian governement. If there were Japanese Australians, there probably were not very many.
