To let your pride not get in the way of what you are doing. Maria Shriver must swallow her pride a lot since she's Democrat and Arnold is Republican. Another example....my ex mother in law use to take the good for nothing sister in law's side when I did all the work, etc...instead of saying anything I swallowed my pride and knew I was the better person by doing so. It means also not to confront another, just let it go.
