Maybe your looking for Shoutcast. Shoutcast is a radio broadcast (for free). You can host your own shoutcast server by following the instructions or listen to existing music.

An alternative to shoutcast is icecast (which I like better). It is opensource meaning you could alternate it in any way or fashion. IT has an east configuration system that you could alter config with ease. And a nice customized webinterface.

Try either one. They are great! When you listen to music from online, it is not downloading it, it is streaming it. So every bit you download is scratched off meaning that it is deleted.
