I think there may be another world somewhere out there, do you? I dont know about aliens or little green men, but maybe something?
Does anyone else think there is life somewhere else?
Do you think it will ever be discovered?

This question is often analyzed using the greenbank formula, which takes a number of factors into account, all of which purport to play a part relative to how many intelligent civilizations there are at this time.
The factors are all fairly simple assumptions, such as life elsewhere will depend on similar circumstances to our own. This means its mostly guesswork. Start with the percentage of stars we think might be Ok for life, factor in how many of those have planets, how many of those have water, etc. and multiply by the number of supposed stars in existence.
Other factors include, out of the number of stars that can support life, how long it takes to become sentient, and develop technology, and then, of course, how long the civilization lasts before it is destroyed, or fades out.
Because of the incredible number of stars, assuming they are finite, This formula virtually guarantees that there are some cultures out there, thinking about us, and possibly, as we have, broadcasting in hopes of finding someone else.
Another question that this formula helps to answer is how far away these people might be. Until recently, the answer was way, way, too far to ever connect.
Although this may still be the situation, the relatively recent discovery of planets around many close stars shows us that planets are much, much more common than originally thought, perhaps even the norm. This puts the likelyhood of intelligent life nearby much, much higher.
Unfortunately, much, much higher still isn't a lot. Unless the other civilization has discovered laws of physics we don't yet know, even though they are almost certainly out there, the chance of contact in our lifetime remains very low.
Sorry. Hope I'm wrong.

With the universe being as huge as it is, it would be fairly naive to assume that earth is the only planet with "life". Most like on this planet is carbon based, but silicon has been theorized as a possible building block atom for life elsewhere.

Remember, when we consider other forms of life, it doesn't necessarily mean that they will be more intelligent or advanced. Even simple organisms representing the equivalent of cells will be a giant discovery.

Of course, there could always be the stereotypical super intelligent beings as well.

As technology advances in the future years, there's not reason to believe why we can't make some sort of contact or new discovery, that is, assuming the human species can make it till then.

I believe that there are different worlds out in the world some where. I think that because of all of the construction and destruction that we have this millenium has scared all of the other creatures into hiding. There are still ways to contact them if we believe in them. My mom' friend says that, "Magic isnt gone, the belief in magic is gone." So if we believe it may be discovered again some day.

yup. in my oppinion, other life form are also human just like us. they had achieved technologies beyond our understanding. when disaster (say biblical flood or meteor impact) strucked the earth, they flew to the space and started a new world somewhere. sometimes they come back to earth just to look around. they haven't make contact with us maybe because they feel that we are not ready to accept them or the truth about our past. but unlike Earth Chronicles by Zecharia Sitchin, i think that we are not some DNA mutant created by them. i believe that we are the same as them. it's just that we are decendant from a less advanced civilization than those who escaped to the stars. our ancestors might survived by climbing to the higher ground or even in shelters. now, because the people who knew technologies were allready gone (dead or escaped to the stars), our ancestor had to struggle from the beginning. imagine what it would be like if all the buildings in the world are destroyed and all the scientist are dead, leaving only a group of teenage highschool students. just like going back to the stone age... :)

absolutely, im aussie and the old old aboriginal cave paintings we have in australia depicted art as far back as 200 yrs or more and in this art there are paintings of ufo's and "alien like" creatures or ppl....and the painting were so significant that if they were depicting them that far back....and even nostradamos was too...well others must have seen them or experienced strange things in our skies....i believe theres life beyong earth, the government has proof, they r just greedy and want to be in control of our thoughts, in a way the government r the aliens and the unknown beyond our earth could be our saviours...lol... omg...thats deep! i seen things when i was young...ufo's and shooting stars that zig zagged across aussie skies...lol... but as far as green men go... maybe theyre just like us...only time will tell!

Yes I do believe they exist. But probably not how other people portray them to be. For one thing,I doubt they are going to come invading earth. IF that was the case ,they would have done that a long time ago. There has been evidence and artifacts of pictures ,and from centuries past. Thats proof enough for me.

Yes, I definitely believe so. Considering the vast amount of space in this universe, it would be pretty narrow-minded to believe otherwise. Life doesn't necessarily have to be "intelligent". Will it ever be discovered? Only time can tell.

There are many stars out there, and at least some of them could have a planet which can support life, and at least some of THOSE could be sentient/intelligent. The law of averages says yes.

I belive that there might be "life" ou there but it may be at the cellular or molecular level. I don't think we have any proof of life beyond our solar system. To quote Carl Sagan: " Extraordinary Claims require Extraordinary proof.
