who thinks that there will be a world war soon?

i'm scared. what with the current state of events, israel, lebbanon and such, that there will be another world war soon. i'm also at the age that in 5 years i could be consindered for the draft. if things keep going this way, the war could break out in the next 5 years. we don't know how many nukes they have and most of us don't know how many WE have. the UN was unable to stop sadam hussien and the taliban without US intervention. we had a major problem before then bush dove into the hornets nest.(iraq) it also seems like with all the **** and corumption in soiciety, it might take WW3 to get us back to the culture of the 50s and 70s it won't be long before news networks will be picking up on this theory. this is all extremely scary. i personally will jump in and enlist if and when i need too. i want some educated opinions.

ww3 has already started my friend, it started about 5 years ago on 9/11. Its called euphemisms. WW3 is to scary for the mass media so we will call it the war on terror, or a coalition of the willin' or some other candy coated word so we won't figure it out.
Think about all the countries involved in one shape or form and you should get a good idea on whats going on. Over a dozen countries actively involved in the middle-east scene either with secondary interest or on the streets of Baghdad. The difference is this time many of the radical Islams feel this is about religion, when that is further from the truth. However, if you want to look at the similarities, the "axis" has been viewed as radical beliefs, say compared to Hitler's views (think about the views of the radicals about the state of Israel).

The UN is worthless at this point in the middle-east. What are they going to do about it? Whatever they should have done, it should have been done 20 years ago. Corruption and laziness has lead to that down fall.

Hope that there is not a draft installed, and hope that this will end as quickly as possible, not that is a likely scenario.

But then again, i am a pessimist.

Not any time soon... And if there was the US would be pretty beat up for it. Our troops and equipment are spread out all over the world not to mention we would need money to go to war. Billions in debt just the last couple of yrs in Iraq. Lets hope there wont.

News guys say the world war already started. Anyway...military would be good for you. I did four as a armored cavalry scout. Paid my way through college, tax free. Look...three hots and a cot, free clothes, medical, dental, you get to play with all kinds of cool stuff. BUT...stay out of Armor (unless you like the idea of an HEAT round tunneling through your steel box) or Infantry (unless you like to walk alot, or it's Mech). I'd go with the Air Cav, and be a door gunner. Strap yourself in the door of a chopper and spray 'em down with a '60. Cool job.

The world in now sane enough. Big powers are united. There is no question of war on large scale. Tolerance, dialog between groups having differences, concentration on root cause of terrorism is the need of day.
