X-wing of course shields and hyperdrive, not to mention an R2 unit when you get lonely after all you don't get much company on the outer rim

Neither, use the Mon Calamari Crusier, or the Floating Cheese wedge the Empire uses and explode some stuff in outer space (which you can't do) on the way.
