Many people still say 8 glasses a day (some say even more!).
YOU DON'T NEED THAT MUCH WATER!!
It's a myth! BOGUS advice. Just an old wives' tale. Urban legend.

the half your weight in ounces answer is the right one. the drink when you feel thirsty answer is way wrong. when you are overly thirsty your body stops recognizing thirst and you won't have a normal thirst response until you are dhydrated. If you drink water regularly in the amounts you should you will feel thirsty naturally.

Per my hydro-cholonic therapist....
half of your body weight in ounces of water
take your body weight and divide by 2 = ounces of water to drink

Divide your weight by 2 and that's how many oz you should drink per day.
